Is it OK that I identify as a goddess?

You've probably heard by now of the school in Australia that's supporting a girl that identifies as a cat. It's come under a lot of criticism but at least it's solved the mouse problem. But it's got me thinking why are somethings more desirable to identify as? No one identifies as a potato.
But if we are to be treated as we identify I thought why not go all the way and identify as a goddess? I mean you already worship me so why not make it official. I demand GAG upgrades my status from master to deity.

Well. Sure, but what kind of goddess things can you do, can you grant people superhuman strength, shapeshift, breathe underwater? I find it disgusting how the world think its ok that kids should be allowed to pic what they identify as. If there were no cats than how could she identify as a cat? Does she eat cat food and poop on a litter box in the corner? Is she a outside cat or and inside cat? Does she have feline boyfriends? Will she have feline offspring? Thats how stupid this is because no she won't be doing any of those things. They are letting make kids think make believe is real.
