To be honest, I'm glad more people, women especially, are having a different change in thought when it comes to accountability, casual sex, etc. I don't think it's healthy for women and I don't think it's what women truly want. More women on social media have a pretty good following, spreading this message to younger generations of women and putting them on a better path mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Honestly, anyone who thinks the Roe v. Wade decision is going to have a major impact on individual behavior is pretty delusional. It changes literally NOTHING in most states (states can decide how to regulate abortion now, and many will either change nothing or will actually REDUCE restrictions to abortion that existed under Roe). And even in the states where restrictions INCREASE people can just go somewhere else to get their abortion done if they want it. It's an inconvenience and all, but bottom line is it won't change behavior in any noticeable way in the aggregate.

As far as hookup culture goes, haven't we always known this isn't really what the vast, vast, VAST majority of women want? That hardly seems like a news flash.

Well, I do understand what you're saying but perhaps there's something you've overlooked.

You see, men can have sex all the time and anytime.

You already know the answer to sex from a man is "yes."

As you know, for women, this is not the case. For women, generally, sex is not just sex. It is usually attached to relationships, investment in a man, and emotions.

For men, it is just an act that can be done with little to no emotion for the woman. Also, it can be separated from relationships and other emotional attachment and investment.

A man will not have sex with you if you do not give consent or "open your legs" so to say.

Yeah I understand all of that but that's basically the same as saying because men can separate emotion from sex they are absolved of any personal responsibility that goes along with it. Yet, if we weren't just talking about pregnancy and we were talking about all the other risks involved with sex like HIV/stds if a man didn't use a condom and caught HIV or an std a lot of people would say "well that was the choice he made when he had sex with a woman he didn't really know and didn't put a rubber on it". I think responsibility should go both ways for both parties involved with casual sex regardless of whether they can do it easily or without emotion. Think of it this way.

Imagine a wall holding back a huge body of water from crashing into and flooding the city. So, for you, casual sex/hooking up can work just fine without any mental, emotional, or physical drawbacks.

Now, for the majority of women or women in general, casual sex/hooking up is more detrimental for their physical, mental, and emotional health than it is for men.

Now, I'm sure it's not necessarily good for either sex, but science has proven that it is worse for women.

Also, I don't think a woman has to hookup or engage in a lot of casual sex with men to understand which men to avoid and which to go after.

I do believe it can be good, but I agree that for many women, it’s not and for a variety of reasons. By gaining experience, I’m actually more referring to dating, without necessarily hunting for a husband. I did this from age 19-22 and this was without question, incredibly enlightening. Not detrimental even though not every date was a good one. There were some shitty dates, but I learned SO much from them. Did I sleep with ever guy? No. But I did sleep with a few and I don’t regret it. So, to use myself as an example, that’s more what I’m talking about with my original point.

Well, I partially agree with that. I think dating different people can help you to determine what you like and don't like in an intimate partner, but it is not really needed for a lot of things.

For example, you don't have to date a man who has cheated on women many times in his life to know if you'd want to be with someone like this or not.

Actually, if you think about it, I think most of us know what we want quite well even without being with or dating a lot of people.

Another example is, I don't like promiscuous women/women who have been with a lot of men. Why would date such a woman? To find out what? She did what she did and there's no changing that it. It is, in a way, permanently part of her.

It's the same thing as not wanting to date a man who has raped a woman. Is there anything that he can say or do during a date that would make up for that? Probably not.
