Would you be okay knowing a crazy person in your daily life?

Someone who is not a danger to themselves and others, but pretty much everything else below that point. They believe in conspiracy theories, have erratic, animal-like habits and idiosyncrasies, and seem more alien than human. You can call them "high functioning" or "boring when on their meds." I'm option F, but also, option A and B!

Would you be okay knowing a non-violent crazy person?

YES!!! I love crazy people! They're my kind of folk!

Yes, I'd be fine dating a crazy girl or guy.

Yes, I'd be fine being friends with a crazy person or living with them, but would not date them or go beyond that.

There are lots of varieties of crazy. Lots of things I do some others consider to be crazy. That said there is a family member who has been on opioids for something like 15 years due to disability and has become childlike in some ways, animalistic in others. This one is also destructive, dismissive of property and narcissistic BUT the system does not view her as damaged enough to require any sort of supervision and so we must deal with it as best we can. Almost impossible at times.
So eccentric... goofy... awkward... quirky... sure, everybody has their twists, but there's a line.

@sage2021 she's had a history of substance abuse off and on through her life, but before her injury and disability was clean and reasonable. Seemed to be on a decent path. She has been on hydrocodone AND fentanyl patches for at least a decade at ths point (nearly died from accidentally having two of those on at once). Also gone waay off the wagon with the alcohol andwho knows what her "boyfriend gives her. so no I wouldn't pin it all on the opioids, but her real need for the legitimate job that they do... it's a bad situation altogether

In some way we all are crazy. Some are just more crazy then others. The world itself went crazy as hell a long time ago. So being crazy become a coping mechanism. Because any perfectly sane person would be driven to jump off a building with in a few sec of existing in this crazy world.

I had a mentally unstable neighbour live on the floor above us for 5 years. Nothing crazy like you said. But she never really had an idea of what was going around her. She would use the stairs instead of the elevator. She once asked me if there was power for her to use the elevator and when I said yes she proceeded to use the stairs. Things like that.

i work with disabled and elderly, and when you experience their insanity you are never the same, how they see the world and deal with things. its exhausting

I'm not exactly sure what kind of behaviors would be included but that description reminds me of a relative of mine lol. I probably wouldn't date or associate with a crazy person unless I had a reason to, everything has limits.

I've had my fill of crazy in my life. It's why I went from being liberal to conservative/libertarian because the craziness of woke progressives.

They make life less boring, their point of view can be so different and it's fun if you know how to ride that wave that's their mind, you and them can get the most out of the situation.

I know that this question is supposed to be funny. However it is really not as much fun as you think it would be to date somebody with a mental disorder.

Also, I HAVE known mentally ill people in my life and dated one before. I don't know her diagnosis, but I'd assume Rana had Borderline Personality Disorder, after they diagnosed Amber Heard with it a few months ago, as well as whatever any typical female stalkers would have. She wasn't dangerous to me, cause I've seen and known worse than that and pretty much no human being can scare me, but she legitimately had a disorder or two. It didn't bother me that much aside from her being narcissistic and unwilling to change.

You are romanticizing craziness, real crazy people will eventually get violent and incredibly mean, you will rarely get the best of both worlds.

I diagnose and treat people with mental illness as a large part of my work. I don't want them in my personal life.

@SoftCliff Some of my friends DO have a mental illness, but that is not an all-or-nothing descriptor. Mild anxiety or depression is tolerable in casual social situations; problems like borderline personality disorder or uncontrolled bipolar I disorder are not.
