Are right wingers persuadable?

A recent take by The Atlantic mentions how Russian trolls have been spending the last 8 years trying to make Americans believe each other to be unpesuadable , on both sides, and to push both sides to be unpersuadable. Obviously this was a roaring success but I wonder if it is reversible. The problem is, I think, the misalignment of priorities.

Like the Trans thing. It's not that I can't be persuaded that there are only two genders: it's more that I don't see why it matters next to rich people robbing us for trillions of dollars. I don't think I can be persuaded to think settling the gender question is more important than rich people robbing us for trillions. But is the reverse possible? If right wingers already knew they are being robbed by rich people, could they be persuaded to believe that's more important than gender definitions? Or, perhaps, it might be more important to ask if rich people don't already know they are being robbed by rich people, could they be persuaded of this fact or would they put up walls to deny it as something something free market?

My experience tells me - rarely. It's not just Russian trolls at work, but Newt Gingrich began doing the same thing when he was Speaker of the House almost 30 years ago. He turned Congressional compromise into a dirty word for weakness, the inability to stand up for one's principles, and a lack of moral character". Ironic, coming from Newt, especially the last part, but it became a right-wing mantra that's taken hold and divided people.

Almost every right-wing person I've spoken to wants to be an isolationist. They've adapted the "America First" credo, but they don't know what that means. They don't realize that America doesn't have the people resources or raw materials to operate on its own, especially because of how America consumes. They have no idea where the USA ranks worldwide in things science and math, or money spent on health care. Instead, they're particularly incensed about the border issue, wholly convinced that illegal immigrants (doing jobs Americans won't do or don't want to do), are the cause of ALL problems in America. Even though immigration has been an ongoing problem that's been kicked down the road for 80 years, it's always the "liberals" fault.

My biggest sense of disappointment is that they fall for the "cult of personality" far too easily. I never hear real issues being discussed and who/how/when can they be resolved, except if all of our like-minded personalities have the power. But the moderates and liberals I talk to still want to discuss issues, but they don't trust any right wingers to compromise or seek solutions. Sadly, they barely trust "the other side", but feel forced to because they see no other way.

Yeah, we all are. I’m lefty (gasp!) and when we’re shown what we want to see we are more likely to believe it. The more of our community believes something the more likely I’ll buy in without even verifying.

But right wingers seem to be more persuadable, not liking to verify facts.

"Facts" to a right-winger are what they want they hear on Fox, Newsmax, OAN. Facts to a left-winger are what they hear on CNN, MSNBC or NEWSY. Even when you strip away the spin, it's often a difficult task to get to the truth. A story can spring from a seemingly reliable source, but without a smoking gun, the other viewpoint will always negate it. The madness sets in when you have actual video of what happened, and it STILL gets negated! Perfect example - Jan. 6th. Some lawmakers, in this case only Republicans, maintain there "was" no violence, just peaceful protest, and attempt to repeat the lie until it becomes believed. It's astonishing. If all of that video couldn't persuade a right-wing Senator, what in the world could?

A) What evidence to you have that this is even taken place at a significant scale?
B) By exactly what means are "rich people" somehow accomplishing this goal?
C) How exactly have your political leaders in the last 60+ years done anything but make the issue worse?

Also how is that more important than:
1: Whether or not you can afford to put food on your table. Due to inflation and regulation induced supply change issues.
2: Whether or not women are safe in the bathroom/locker room and have a fair chance in sports.
3: Whether or not an idiot keeps pushs one of the few people on earth Capablanca of wiping us off the planet into a corner where they feelt hey must do it?
4: Whether or not we are going to get robed or killed in our own city for want of a goverment but capable and willing to actually prosicute them. Rather than catch and release them.

Maybe we do share different priorities...
maybe you don't have theses problems wherever you live...
Or maybe your just too single-mindedly focused upon an abstract idea of a misterous class of people you've never met, by means you have not described are somehow causing your problems also not described.

Either way we feel we have successfully implemented solutions to most of theses problems both where we live, and in the past.

So you need not stretch your attention span or memory even thou it is healthy to do so. The brain is a muscle like any other it gets stronger by using it.

You have not:
1) Define either profits nor dept which you are talking about.
2) Established an illicit relationship connecting the undefined profits and debt.
3) Proposed a yet to be tried means by which said illicit behavior could be stop and why said means had not been tried before.

Only then can we establish if we both know about the issue and have different explications or resolutions.

They definitely aren't of the same bird. The right goes to great pains to imitate the left for the sake of mockery, but that's in illusion to appear the same. The fact is the right is pushing us towards oligarchy and authoritarianism, much like Russia. Whereas the left seems a bit like herding cats in that there isn't really any leadership or loyalty and everyone has their own isolated priorities. It doesn't take much for right wing media to find the goofiest of them and amplify them to turn it into a national debate. Indeed, it weren't for right wing media I doubt 90% of the left would even know that trans people cared about pronouns - which, as it turns out, the overwhelming majority of them do not.

Kind of off topic but the problem with such seemingly simple views is one side (the right) wants to assault people and seize property. And so on the face of it, it would seem you are a dedicated Democrat. However, all that also means is all the right has to do is figure out some clever way to say democrats are also assaulting people and sizing property, and they'll know it will make you too mad look into it let alone consider scale (and even if you did those things, they'll have layers of disinformarion ready for it), and so democrats lose the vote of everyone who shares your ideal.
