What is it about Rap and Hip Hop and gun violence?

This question could be seen as controversial, but I'm not looking at it from a race issue at all. But, why does it seem like many young Hip Hop and rap artists end up getting shot? Do they really live the lifestyle their songs might mention? I'm asking this question due to the murder of Takeoff from Migos. It's just a question I've had for a while and was curious. This is no way about race or meant to be. It's just a question for educational purposes.

They do indeed. I've noticed American people in general, feel they need to shoot people to be respected, but black people, especially rappers certainly advocate it a lot more than other races.

You don't hear AC/DC or Toby Keith singing about shooting up schools.

Someone a few years ago told me that black people love negativity.

Black rappers get shot if they cannot afford body guards cause other black guys are jealous of their success. It happened to Tupac and Biggie Smalls as well and Juvenile’s relatives were killed too. In college, my friend told me never to complain about my grades, or people would hate me because I always got straight A’s.
