What are your thoughts on Biden approving the release of “The Merchant of Death” for Britney Griner?

Biden hits all the necessary anti-gun talking points to toe the party line, but releases Viktor Bout, a notorious arms dealer who was convicted of conspiracy to kill Americans, conspiracy to deliver anti-aircraft munitions and aiding a terrorist organization. This terrorist was released in exchange for Britney Griner, a US athlete who has been imprisoned for a matter of months for knowingly smuggling THC into Russia. Meanwhile, the Biden administration has again turned their back on US Marine Paul Whelan, who has been held in Russia for four years for espionage. The US State Department officially declared that Whelan also was “wrongfully detained”.
What are your thoughts on the exchange that took place and Biden turning his back on a US military veteran?

I guess Russia won that negotiation big, the would have had to release Britney regardless or lose access to international Athletics. Who did they send to negotiate Former Ambassador Bill Richardson that would be his style.

That’s more than a “win” for Russia. The US bent over and took it up the chute, no lube. Somehow nobody can see how this case gushes hypocrisy.

Britney Griner wasn't worth it. Paul Whelan would have been but he is only a man and therefore worthless.

I hate to admit it, but i’m certain Griner being a black female celebrity has a lot to do with this decision. It’s not everything, because the Biden administration has repeatedly willfully neglected Whelan, and you could argue that Drumpf did too. This whole thing just gets my dander up.

USA has plenty of arms dealers, you can buy that shit in Walmart! But it doesn't have enough drug dealers, now that weed is legal in some states. Also Griner is worth around $5 million - which is more than a dozen marines are worth.

The USA more or less framed and demonised Viktor - something the USA has done a lot down the years. Remember al-Megrahi and his "bombing" which turned out to be US bollocks?

Ain’t no athlete on the planet who DIDN’T serve worth what a single veteran is worth. If you’re not clowning, your values are as foul as Biden’s or Drumpf’s.
The last bit is what’s called a “straw man” argument. Stick to the point. The question isn’t about how corrupt the US government may or may not be. In fact, suggesting that they are corrupt immediately after justifying their actions says as much about you as it does them.
