We have enough laws in place to have secure elections.
Before this stupid bill gets passed, the following needs to done:
Voter rolls cleaned up (like they're supposed to).
Ballots with illegal addresses tossed out and never counted (the Post Office can tell you immediately if the address is valid or if it's a business).
No ballot harvesting.
Early voting is allowed for a damn few exceptions (proven illness, military, individuals out of the area).
No electronic voting. When I heard that was being considered in the early 90's, I knew immediately that cheating was going to be much easier to accomplish.
Bipartisan oversight at ALL voting locations, and especially during vote counting.
Chain of custody for ballots MUST be observed. If not, then those ballots get tossed out.
Eliminate rank-choice voting in ALL states. That just encourages one party to dominate state and federal positions, rather than offer voters a choice.
If any of the above conditions exist, you can GUARANTEE outright voting fraud is taking place at some level.
Election day should be a single day for voting, not 30-60 days. Having early voting that far ahead only invites fraud in the form of people voting multiple times (using fake names and illegal addresses - that aren't checked). It invites ballot harvesting because Board's of Election mass mail out ballots in multiple states, rather than requiring an individual request an absentee ballot. It invites fraud in the form of people voting multiple times using absentee ballots, and then again in person - again, this isn't checked as diligently as it should.
Any ballots received AFTER Election Day must be postmarked before that. And I wouldn't accept ANY ballots delivered more than 48hrs AFTER Election day, regardless when they're postmarked. If you're voting absentee, you should be smart enough to get your ballot dropped off or mailed to the Board of Election in time.
That scares the shit out of me. Technically, 30 states already voted FOR a convention. Now it was for certain things like abortjon or immigration. So experts don’t know if they’re supposed to be counted together.
This is why I think our founding fathers could have written a bit more logistical shit in the margins.

Yes except it didn't go nearly far enough. The Electoral College is a sham that ensures disproportional representation when electing the President. The only justification for it's existence is to prevent completely unqualified and despotic people from being elected President but it failed with Trump. Abolish it and follow the popular vote as we always should have

I guess Florida counts early and mail-in ballots before election day? That's OK, although I'd leave a couple of days for the post to be delivered. If all states did that, Trump wouldn't have been able to falsely claim victory on election night. He knew the vote count would look like he was doing better than he was, given that his opponent was likely to have more absent votes than him.

I think the elections should be sorted by election day but it's kinda irrelevant so long as the government is so thoroughly compromised. Some politicians are a bit less compromised and maybe even do their best from the inside.
@goaded other states had similar but different issues with voter suppression. The whole election system needs to be redone from scratch and have the type of security where it's like they're afraid they will be tortured for years if they fuck up.
And the election results should be tallied and announced on election day.

If ANY Democratic President tried to overturn the results of an election the way TRUMP did, I'd call for their hide and demand they be thrown in jail. Maintaining the Constitutional order should not be a partisan issue.
I wouldn't even think about trying to justify, defend, or excuse such behavior because it's totally and completely indefensible.
