I got Tied to a Tree By a couple of Loud smokers, just for winning an argument?

Following the outcry to my last question so I thought I'd provide an example🤣A couple of months ago I was taking a few minute look and gaze at the hills in the distance while out for a walk on a weekend away on a lovely woodland trail, it was lovely until i was clouded with a wall of smoke from behind🥴I turned a few moments later after hearing a couple of LGBT remakrs and slurs in the conversation they were having. So I walked over and I confronted a man and woman about early to mid 20s and told the couple who were smoking like chimneys which smelt horrible and supposedly having a "picnic" when I confronted them I simply said "I don't want to inherit any damage from your smoke, and also its 2022 so maybe grow up with your slurs" 👌 The womans response was to laugh in my face and say "Mind your own buisness Mr, you sound like Kurt off Glee" her boyfriend laughed his ass off and told me to "Go away" with a few expletives, so I then pulled them on their ignorance and floored logic and why because they see someone like me they feel it okay to act in this manner? and they ended up tying me to a tree and carrying on anyway with their smoking and "Picnic" before driving off a short time later. 🙈 I think this is a great example of people not being able to handle losing an argument and accepting their own ignorance. Although people find this amusing even my friends, it highlights it to the tee. Do you agree?

I was there for quite a while and bad a piece of tape on my mouth and mini muffin stuffed in my mouth. I was found by a dog walker, along with my friend Meg who came some time later after wondering where I'd got to.

People are so ignorant and disrespectful these days for real! Even if it’s out in the open and outdoors they still invaded your personal space and did something rude, I can understand your point of view as well because at my college before there used to be a smoking area and there were benches too nearby so sometimes these smokers would stand around and walk around smoking near them! It was annoying asf but gee people can suck but don’t let them get you down.

I believe that you were right. However, confronting them was a bad idea. They could have been violent and this could have ended up poorly. Fortunately you were able to get out of this scary situation. They were the ones who were wrong.

Both yes and no. While your point about smoking is bad is correct, you could perhaps have been more polite with the way you asked them? Also we have no idea what logic you floored them with or how you said it.

And why should other people there care if their slurs are juvenile or not? If a stranger interrupted a conversation to tell me my "slurs" are juvenile and that I should grow up I would have a field-day arguing with you until you regret you started the discussion.

I don't know what the people you talked to said. I don't know what logic you floored them with. I only know what you have stated here, and I feel you would have gotten better results being more polite.

But I stress you can be polite and assertive at the same time ! I used stereotypes back against themselves after they referred to me as "Kurt off Glee" (the gay guy on glee), I pointed out there lack of IQ and there need to act aggressive just because a little orange guy gay has confronted them about there ignorance I also pointed out smoking risks and after pushing him as I went to walk away, they tied me to a tree, turned the music up before leaving.

I do think you are right, of course.

I’ll answer this from a perspective taught to me in martial arts classes. We are trained to fight, but should only use it as defense.

It was dangerous to instigate them after they already threatened you verbally. Even though what they did was wrong, you didn’t have any self defense training to protect yourself. It was a bit silly to do that.

Exactly! 💯The worst thing I said was probably "ill give you a slap in a minute" to the guy and obviously the fact I pushed him as I went to walk off. But that was in response to them, It's not there right if I don't to I hale which I ended doing anyway in the end ironically.
