My boyfriend and I have set up our lives in a way that we don’t need to work anymore and still have a generous income. I live in a remote area on an acreage and I love it. I feel like I’m living a dream but my boyfriend insists that this is not the life for many people. That most people do enjoy working the 9 - 5 five days a week , but my stomach rolls just thinking about it. Am I really so abnormal? Do people REALLY love the working life? I would have loved to work that much AND be happy but it was impossible , it caused a lot of grief and that’s why I worked so hard to get to where we are now.
Both. I like doing certain types of work and not others.
I like to be a worker of the land,
Gardening and farming with my hands,
Making sure the plants are healthy and grand,
And that the soil is as fertile as sand.I like to volunteer and give of my time,
Helping with projects that are sublime,
Answering calls for help in any clime,
Making sure that everyone has a dime.I like to work with my lungs wide open,
Running and biking, and swimming in the ocean,
Feeling the wind in my hair on the way to the station,
Bringing a smile to the face of each nation.I like to work with my heart on fire,
Donating to charities that inspire,
Giving of my time and never tire,
Making sure justice for all is not a liar.I like to work with my mind,
Thinking and creating of all kinds,
Using my knowledge to solve problems and find,
A way to create a world of peace of mind.I like to work with my body and soul,
Giving to others the best that I know,
Making sure the world is a better place to go,
And that everyone can achieve their goal.

I think flip the word work with the word helping other each day (and they give you monetary value of equal for the product / service you provide in return). A non profit may be what some people would like most if they like the good feeling of helping others most work provides. But I would argue if you do it for free if you dont need the money you'll feel even better to provide the service.

Yes, of course I enjoy my work. I would be doing something else if I didn’t. I think what I do is important and relevant and I see it as a calling and a profession.
…and then I go home and do chores around my acreage and look after my little homestead, because I think that is important and fulfilling as well.
Yeah that's bullshit! No normal person would for fun. The people who say they do what they love, they don't have jobs, they have paid hobbies. Like musicians and actors.
Did you know that paid labor is a concept that was invented in ancient Egypt to keep the people busy and tired so they don't revolt.
I'm curious how on earth you guys managed to never have to work again, yet are still getting an income.Err, share your secret, dude.
And no, 9-5 to pay the bills is literal slavery. Especially if the work is not something that you have any passion for.
You seem very out of touch if you think people are working 40 hours a week because they want to.
Whatever questionable income you are getting is not an option for the vast majority of people.I work simply to generate the money to pay bills and invest. I invest so that I can reach the point where my passive income exceeds all expenses, and thus no longer need to work.
How is your land enriching you? What is your source of income?
My uncle once told me to do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.
What are you doing to get passive income? Kinda curious.
I like it most days, I’ve been places and done things I never would’ve done otherwise.
But mostly I like having money to live 🤷♂️I volunteered in hospices (past tense-never going back) and it seems when we stop working we start dying.
I think humans have a need to feel productive. And be appreciated for being productive.I like working... it's not my favorite thing in the world to do, but I enjoy what I do.
Brag much?
How did you two accomplish this? Teach me!
Well it's boring to just stay at home xd
Can you message me by the way?
Need to pay your bills, I have to work
I think less people like it as time goes on
So what did you set up exactly?
