Should topless swimming be allowed in pools?

Berlin has agreed to allow topless swimming in its city pools.

Obviously this is a huge victory for women but I know that a lot of gag users, particularly American ones, are angry at increasing woman's rights.

So how do you feel about topless woman in your local pool?

It seems like things have gone backwards since I was about 16 , Black Rock beach Victoria Australia , go left family side , turn right topless bathing or naked , now I turned right , not for the reasons you imagine , I was always taught this was completely natural ( 3 older , liberated sisters ) , this part of the beach had better sand , far less crowded , well away from the moral compass of the time , this is a VERY long time ago , and we are asking about swimming topless in a pool in Berlin? A very liberated environment , so of course it absolutely fine.

Counter side , here I am in Hua Hin Thailand , delightful spot , but its not my country , its for the Thai people to decide , and they decide NO , thats fine too , for example here a man should also not work shirtless down the road , thats not polite , so I dont do it , Its amazing the number of Farangs ( white skin foreign ) men and women , who just completely ignore this in Thailand. Do a little research before you visit another country.

Depends on the culture. Germany is much more open about the body than many places, so why not? I have been to places that allow nudity in swimming areas (pools, beaches, etc.) Makes sense to me. I live in a state where nudity in open areas is allowed as long as you are not going to be offending people in the area. But my city forbids it. Yet, each year thousands of people take part in the Naked Bike Ride through the city and the city police lead it to stop traffic from blocking it and many intersections have cops posted to keep side traffic from cutting through the miles of riders. A couple of recent rides were officially measured at having over 10,000 riders.

Some places in America it could be allowed.

No. There are CHILDREN around pools. Some people (hell a lot of people) tend to sexualize the Female breast and they are! Often times, they are the source of a man's orgasm and erections so I mean... come on!

But I guess it they allow it then people have to get used to it. I wouldn't feel comfortable, NOT because I am a prude or "sex negative" but I just think, where is the DECENCY anymore? ! Next thing they will allow is soft porn in schools or they allow people to be BOTTOM less! What's SACRED anymore? ? ! Seriously.

Plus, I LOVE wearing one pieces as well as two pieces and or it's nice to see bikini's. The clothing companies (especially the swim wear ones) would take a NOSE dive lol. If they allowed this and normalized it yeah.

It is stupid.. I always thought it was gross seeing women's tits out... I don't know I just never liked it since I was a kid at the YMCA seeing old ladies washing their tits in the outside showers... I hope lots of old ladies do it.. might make the people reconsider... Nudity is not being liberated... it is just low class behavior and just nasty...

Seeing showing boobs in public as a " huge victory"  is dumb. A victory towards what exactly? Equality? Breasts are part of the reproductive system. They produce milk for infants and are considered and used by women as a sexual accessory. A man's chest isn't. Unless you fight for the right of men to go to the pool with their balls out too (which is ridiculous), how is this equality? The reason it's culturally accepted in Germany is because staring at boobs is vastly accepted there. People don't complain about it. This,  will not  work in most other countries where women see staring as "misogyny" or even more ridiculous, "violence".

I think it should be up to the individual if they want to wear a top or not. Laws requiring women to cover their chest while men aren't required to discriminate on the basis of sex. Now if it became legal to not wear a top, I don't think you'd see that many women take advantage of it, at least in the short term, but the point is it should be the choice of the woman, not of the government.

I have no problem with it AT ALL.
I would certainly enjoy the view, but that's not the main reason why I would support the idea. WTF is wrong with boobs?

My wife and I were at the Coppola winery in NAPA a couple years ago. We were sitting at a poolside table with an umbrella. There was a rather busty gal wearing one of those one piece suits that has one shoulder strap. Kinda like this

If they wanna go topless in pools or anywhere else, then they should also man up when it comes to creeps staring at it, not feel uneasy when it actually touched accidentally, getting creeped out if someone compliments their boobs thesame way as how they compliment their face, hair, dress or style and not complain about characters having revealing outfit that almost exposes their boobs. If the law is double standards that it's against the law for women to go topless but not men so in that case if they really wanna go topless just like men, the law might as well just treat them like men too.

So I would enjoy and be turned on a bit and I imagine it shouldn't be sexual thing but I imagine a fair amount of guys and girls would sexually enjoy it. Would be weird at first but something you get use to after a little bit. I remember seeing something about someone explaining that men dont get turned on by seeing naked women on nude Beaches etc. If it's their first time sure at first they will but after like 10 min they start to get use to it and before an hour it's just normal.

Of course this should be allowed. The positive side is to leave the choice to the women whether to swim topless or not. No need, I guess, to add I'd love to see the ladies swimming topless, but sadly exactly because of that on the side of men, most women will not feel confortable going to the pool with their top uncovered.

Women have been able to go topless in public places where I live since 1996. With that said, I've only seen a woman topless in public twice, and both times were back in the 90s within a year or two after the law was enacted. Women have the right here to do it, but no one does it. But I suppose one reason why is because there are a couple of nude beaches here, so perhaps women who want to go topless go there instead because it causes less of a stir.

Sure you can see it as a victory but I´m actually not sure what´s the win if you can go nude to the pool in a couple of years because what´s the reaction a nude woman will get? Every guy will stare and people will talk about it.

I've never been required to wear a top at a pool. It's never been seen as a political statement, a threat to kids, sexually explicit or shameful when I choose to take advantage of the option and go topless. I think it'd be great if women didn't have any of that either, and a pool could just be a pool for everyone.

It is not like it would be a requirement to bare the mammaries. It would still be up to the woman’s discretion to free the nipples.
