Since Trump was as much a supporter of the deep state as Biden, was Trump a Trogan Horse? And, do Trump supporters have the lowest political IQs?

Question

The state sponsored media lied relentlessly about what happened on January 6. They are still lying about every aspect of the event. An unknown number of protesters were thrown into prison, kept in solitary confinement, and beaten. All of them nonviolent. All of them denied due process. All of it unconstitutional. And all of it supported by every politician in both parties, every “journalist” in our “free press,” and saddest of all, a majority of the increasingly dumbed down American populace.

Now Trump is promising to pardon the J6 protesters if he’s reelected. He won’t be reelected. And if he somehow is, he won’t pardon them. He could have pardoned them on his way out of office. Just like he could have pardoned Julian Assange, and Edward Snowden, and Bradley/Chelsea Manning. Instead, he pardoned some Blackwater executives.

Trump’s appointments were about as bad as they could possibly be. One Never Trumper after another, like Nikki Haley, and later ultimate warmonger and bully John Bolton. And then he appointed lifelong Bush crime family crony William Barr as his Attorney General.

Trump had promised perhaps more than any other presidential candidate in history. He was going to sign Executive Orders, on his “first day in office,” to ban birth-right citizenship, to ban sanctuary cities, to stop the foreign visa worker pipeline. He was going to close the border. He was going to actually deport those here illegally. On the immigration issue alone, Trump was full of promises. He kept none of these. Not one.

Needless to say, Trump didn’t keep his promises on other issues, either. He didn’t bring the troops home. He bombed Syria when his own Never Trumper advisers pressured him to. He backed down on releasing the JFK files.

Instead of being a Trogan Horse, as @RealMarek pointed out, Trump lacked courage and was not brave enough to go against the deep state.

There may be a lot of truth to that because one of the first things Trump did as president was to visit the CIA and prostate himself before them and promised to support the CIA. After all as Donald Jeffries said, "He [Trump] backed down on releasing the JFK files when the CIA ordered him to." In other words, Trump was the CIA's errand boy.

I think Trump had the pulse of common mid-Americans, knew the “swamp” needed draining, and knew how to make our pompous political class look so bad he could defeat their candidates (Bush and Clinton), but he had no clue what he was up against with regard to the deep state. His appointments show naivety. I think the logic was to build a “big tent” consensus within the GOP. Also, I don’t think of Trump as being particularly courageous. I don’t know, but I imagine he was threatened by the intelligence services that if he didn’t bomb Syria or if he pardoned the J6 protestors that he would be imprisoned or worse. In fact, we know he was threatened, because none other than Senator Schumer said the intelligence services had “six ways from Sunday” to harm Trump if he did things they didn’t want him to do. That was a threat.

As for the MAGA populists, yes, they have the lowest political IQs. They are the American peasantry, so they should not be expected to figure things out for themselves. They need leadership, and they need better leadership than Trump. And believe me, if they get a great leader everything in this country will change. This is not meant as an insult. They are my people and I love them, but they have been purposely undereducated, ridiculed in popular culture, purposefully dispossessed by policy of the industry and small farms that used to sustain them, beset with illegal migrant cheap labor that takes their jobs, had their family structure destabilized, fed fake food, and degraded in too many other ways to mention. On top of that they get fed the conservative inc. BS that exploits their sense of patriotism and, in for many of them, dispensationalist theology, to keep them hawkish (for the military industrial complex and Israel) and never allows the discourse on the right to cross the regime’s red lines of what speech is or is not allowed. Keep in mind the National Review invented cancel culture decades before the left took it up. As for myself, I just happened to get propelled through education into the non-ruling elite, which I found to be pervaded by boot licking a**holes.

I voted independent in 2016 because, 1) after Obama, I realized that the Democratic party was corrupt to the core and 100% neoliberal, 2) I couldn't possibly vote for the megalomaniac, mass murdering, psychopath Hillary and 3) Trump seemed like a douche bag. But I was surprised to feel a huge sense of relief when I woke up the next morning to hear the Killary had lost. Anything was better for this country and the world but her.

Once in office, Trump was way over his head. He hadn't been groomed from childhood to be part of the political elite. He was merely a rich guy with a huge ego who naively thought he could run the country like a business as its CEO.

I'll paraphrase an anonymous commenter on this thread. "US establishment, which is the military industrial complex, federal agencies, the CIA, NSA, Senate, Congress, both parties, the media and state governments worked together to contain him. Hillary's loss had derailed all their and the international globalist's plans.

Once in office, everything in your comment about him is factual. Although he didn't bomb as many countries as did Obama. And I think he did initially intend to pull out of Syria. I loved his attempt at detente with N. Korea and Russia. He considered himself, above all, to be a great negotiator. But he did cave to the power of Zionism and roll over on his back to Israel.

In the end, the powers aligned against him were to great.

Given all that, I did, for the first time in my life, vote Republican in 2020 and vote for him, because I had to try to stop Biden and the Democrats from retaking the White House and continuing evil plans that had been temporarily sidelined when Killary lost.

US Presidents are figure heads these days. Trump was supposed to be a dud candidate that would be an easy victory for hillary but he won so the US establishment that is the industrial military complex, federal agencies, the CIA, Secret Service, NSA, Senate, Congress, both parties, the media and state governments worked together to contain him and anything he tried to do even his own administration did too, there was nothing Trump could do except bluster and bullshit. Doesn't matter who is president they all read off the same script of an overall strategic plan. Whenever something monumental is achieved domestically and abroad the president gets to take credit.

Trump was not newly as effective as a President as he wanted to be. Nor as he promised to be. He listened to the wrong people, And he dealt with severe legal limitations on his ability to act for the first 2 and a 1/2 years of his term. But he is not a deep state supporter. That is not a logical way to read the actions he took during and before his term.

And im so sickhearing his supporters saying “he created jobs”
