Do you think people are using pronouns and trans terms to get away with things?

Question

Nowadays there are some all gender restrooms in public, some even have 3 restrooms. However most places still have the normal “male” and “female”. I recently went to the restroom in an arena and a “man” walked in. Yes he was born a male, but went by she/her pronouns. As a matter of fact he (she) didn’t have any sex change surgery not was he dressed or wore makeup as a “typical woman” I hope you understand what I mean. I actually work at a hotel where the restrooms are all gender so I honestly didn’t notice anything unusual, until I actually noticed. Most of the women were really uncomfortable and so was I. This was because he was actually being creepy. The restroom was quite busy and had a line and he chose to cut the line and stand in front of a stall and he was staring directly through the little gap. Tbh it seemed as though he used the pronoun / transgender excuse to enter the women’s restroom. He was escorted out by security after. Do you think that people are using this pronouns / transgender thing as an excuse, or to somewhat go around the system or get away with certain things?

I'm from Japan and we have long tradition of trans people but not like the US. We don't say, "Men can get pregnant too!" "Women can have penis!"

Transwomen understand they are fundamentally men. Transmen understand they are fundamentally women. This is not considered a big deal.

And trans people generally pass really well here in Japan. If you go to Kabuki-cho, it is really hard to tell who is actually woman or man unless you talk to them and realize the one you thought was woman has super deep voice.

Meanwhile, I think Western countries like US have gone crazy because you guys are saying men can get pregnant and you have guys who would never remotely pass for women with full-grown beards and nothing more than green hair and rainbow shirt saying they are "women". This is looney tunes shit! WTF!

Not really. Maybe it happens on extremely rare occasions but considering the extreme stigma against trans people in USA, where I am assuming this is from, it is simply not worth the trouble. Its like saying people are cutting off their legs to use the handicap parking space. Maybe someone has done it but its on a realistic concern.

I'm sure it has happened. Like I'm not gonna dispute your story. But overall not really. Like the amount of stigma and discrimination they face does not make that a good trade-off. A transwoman is already aware that they are under a lot of scrutiny when they go into a woman's washroom.

I think most people are descent and trying to do their best. When we have exceptions like this they are discussed. But think for the most part people use pronouns they want to feel accepted using
