I recently joined a support FB page for GOP candidate Ron DeSantis. I think he is a way superior candidate to Trump for a whole multitude of reasons.

Anyway while commenting in the FB group I noticed there was sizeable contingent of big time pro Trump supporters who were very anti DeSantis.

There will always be diehard Trump supporters and election deniers. But I have a hard time believing these people would go out of their way on a DeSantis FB support group to intentionally cause arguments and dissension to promote Trump.

Some of their arguments were incredibly stupid too. One woman adamantly claimed that there was mass election fraud in all three of the last major election cycles (2018, 2020 and 2022). Maybe she’s just a looney but I just have a hard time believing anyone could be that stupid/nuts.

Maybe the Trump campaign hired these writers as part of their efforts to torpedo DeSantis support. Not impossible. But I actually have a deeper suspicion that these are actually democratic operatives who are intentionally trying to push Trump through the primaries because they believe Biden will likely win again if Trump gets the nomination.

DeSantis might not have the branding power Trump has but that can change if he runs a smart campaign and people promote him. Democrats are terrified of that scenario. Especially when you put a 45 year old DeSantis next to a 81 year old Biden. The optics alone could swing lots of independents and that’s scares the living hell out of democrats.

He also has no (known) skeletons in his close. Trump’s skeletons are turning into a horror movie (and Biden’s are even worse but he gets special protection being a Democrat).

Anyway I know liberal élitists like George Soros are clever enough to do this bullshit. If you meet a true diehard Trump fan on social media (who you never met in person) it might be a fake democratic operative.

I also know that during the 2022 midterms that the democrats spent millions of dollars promoting the most radical Republican congressional candidates during their primaries in expectation they would lose the general election. I could see the same wide scale push to promote Trump in the primaries.

But if DeSantis and Biden run for president I do hope DeSantis wins. Being European I might align more with Democrats, but Biden needs to go. I will defend that statement quite fiercely. For as little as it means, he got my support.

US elections have been more and more about voting AGAINST the candidate you like less. Biden is so senile and so incompetent (especially with that he did with hyperinflation) it would be easy for swing voters and independents to vote against him given the economy.

However there is only one candidate who could reverse all that: Trump. When many people hear the word “Trump” they immediately become deranged and literally possessed. He also is so vain and so egotistical he will do whatever he can to be in the spotlight. Even if it is criminal. I am a conservative and I acknowledge that he is often out of his mind. Especially lately.

Leftist elitists know this. I HATE leftist elitists but that doesn’t mean I think they are stupid. They are very clever and they understand psychological warfare and manipulation (e. g. George Soros). I can see them spending money, hiring influencers, using the mass media, etc to intentionally promote Trump through the primaries.

Well Biden won the primaries because of branding power. People remember him being Obama’s VP. But even Obama once famously said “Never underestimate Joe Biden’s ability to f*ck things up.” Wasn’t the prophetic.

The primary comes first so they want to make sure their guy wins that first. And since Trump attacks DeSantis for his "disloyalty" and lots of his followers mimick him, I think it's just people like to give their opinions and attack those who oppose their candidates and DeSantis is seen as attacking Trump by running against him. Then they all have to make up later and pretend they didn't mean it.
