People of colour, would you be offended if a mix-race person tried to pass as wholly your race?

I'm black/white/Asian and as I want to know if it would be bad to try to fit into just one of the three categories. I think my best bet is either Asian or white. Even when I leave my hair natural (curly) I'm not very black or black looking.

I want to know if this would be offensive, though.

Not really. I think mixed people could probably choose whichever one they wanted, and probably be valid with it. But I tend to be offended by other black people who are clearly black but wanting to identify as white or wanting to be white, and I really hate it when non-black women want to 'black fish' and go out of their way to make themselves look completely black, it is just so ridiculous.

Can we drop all this racial pot-stirring? We are all the same race. HUMAN.Dave Bautista and Lou Diamond Phillips can pass for whatever they choose. Both are Filipino/American. Philips "passes" for Latino and Native Indian. Bautista can pass for anything the fukk he wants, whether you like it or not.

I don't care if we're all human, I'm sick of people picking and choosing what race I am depending on whatever is convenient for them. I hate being mixed race. I'm going to make a new identity when I turn 18 and as far as anyone else will know, I will not be mixed (to them). I'm picking one thing to be because it's just tiring

I really don’t think so. But that’s a hard thing to do considering you’re 3 different races. But it could be offensive to the 2 races you choose not to pick as your primary race. Do what you want or feel is best for you. You’re not going to make everyone happy. I don’t know who is who as far as your parents, but if you go one way one parent may be upset that you don’t want to identify as black, or Asian or white.
