We lack livable wages mostly in the very same low skills areas this imported competition is driving the prevailing wages down in. Just like bad trade deals with poor countries, except immigration is even worse as the immigrants drive up local prices of the things we need like food and housing.

The reason the Left allows unchecked illegal immigration is because they believe (rightly to a large degree) that these illegal immigrants will be heavily dependent on taxpayer handouts, which the Left supports and the Right doesn't, and thus, these people will all vote Democrat. It's essentially buying votes using taxpayer money. But it also comes at huge expense of the immigrants themselves. Tons of them die, are robbed, beaten, raped, or have their kids stolen and trafficked trying to GET here, and others are forced by the cartels to sneak drugs across, and if they get caught, they get prosecuted.

And that's exactly what this report did: selected stats that could be spun in favor of their preferred narrative, ignoring more relevant stats that did not.
It's not a conspiracy, it's openly-spoken about POLICY. George Soros openly discusses funding non-prosecuting DAs' campaigns, and these DA's run on policies of not enforcing laws on "people of color." 1: Easy relatively high American wages.

Its not just unskilled labor either, many of theses jobs ranging from service to agriculture would be automated if imported labor were not so inexpensive. That automation would have created a lot of additional high skill, high wage tech jobs.
