Why are they doing this as a kind of racist act?

Hello everybody, I'v been America last year for work and travel program. I actually from Turkey. I dont looks like brown or near to black skin colour. Anyway i was there in month of June in NJ state. Everything was going fine until the month of November.. With the onset of the flu season, I noticed that people around me deliberately cough or clean their throat and sometimes spitting the floor when they walk by me on purpose. Even though some of the people I asked said they didn't know what it was, I thought it was an act of racism of some kind. Sometimes when I was passing by, they would say stupid to me again. As I said, this has nothing to do with my skin color. Apparently, I'm young, I've been exposed to these things in ways I can't understand. I've even come across it in New Jersey, Philadelphia, and even New York City's tourist spots.
And why do you think they did this? Is it an attitude of people in the northeastern states of America towards tourists, or are they doing it like this all over America? Is it not nonsense that there is such an attitude in a country with millions of immigrants, then what could be the main reason for them to do such a thing?

Being sick isn't racist. Someone spitting on the floor isn't racist either... It's just nasty, but if you're feeling like shit you're bound to not care. When people are ill, they tend to have a bad attitudes. That out of the way, Democrats tend to be the racists. Race division and race politics are big for them. Democrats were the Confederates historically, they started the KKK, they red lined minorities under the New Deal, they started the BLM and use it every 4 years for politics, they support the Nazis in Ukraine, they are socialists as in National Socialist (Nazis) and have a big following in the Nazi community... Where ever you find Democrats, racism will exist... For example here are some Nazis that came down to Florida to stir up shit... They aren't native to Florida. They move around depending on where the Democrats need them. The guy in the back Boneface just got back from Ukraine were he worked with Azov Battalion to help the Nazis fight Russia...

I'm pretty sure it's not because they're sick. I've experienced it in the places I mentioned and I think there is racism among Democrats as you say. It seems to be about discrimination when someone insists on giving someone else a fake cough when they are not sick. For example, I was walking past a white young man in Manhattan and he started to intentionally coughing while looking at me, and when I looked at him, he started to raise his voice more and more, and I didn't react at all to avoid a fight. Do you think there is any other reason why it could have happened, because my clothes are bad, not because of racism, but because he thinks others are poor or homeless?

The only legitimate reason I could think of someone coughing at a foreigner would be due to excessive use of cologne or body spray or something like that. I've noticed some Africans that don't bath often will mask their body odor with excessive fragrances that cause people to choke and cough. I don't know any regional customs or behaviors were people cough at each other in the USA when they are mad or trying to start a fight.

Mostly, it's ignorance. I used to be on a bowling league a long time ago and one of the other guys on my team would actually spit on the floor and then walk in it!
There's a lot of people that just don't give a fuck where they spit and launch right in the paths where most people walk! Because of my terrible nose, I've been doing a LOT of spitting all my life!! But, I always make sure it's done in places where people aren't going to walk. When I'm on stage with my band, I make sure I've got an extra empty plastic cup with me so that I can spit into that rather than on the stage or have to run to the bathroom every 5:00!!
Chances are VERY good that you just happened to run into a number of rude people that don't care WHERE they spit or don't care to cover their mouth when they cough! My neighbor is like that! We're in a closed up car and he coughs without covering his mouth!
As for it being because you're Turkish, I used to work in a restaurant with 3 Turks and nobody ever said a bad thing about any of them!

Well, I've never seen this happen, but in the unlikely event that it is, it's almost certainly not done with racism in mind.

the spitting thing is bad but ok in the usa, here in the U. K. you can get an £80 fine on the spot.
