Will the rage-addicted right ever get mad about being lied to?

I'm so curious about this. Full disclosure I consider myself a "left facing pragmatist." Which basically means I would be indistinguishable from a "right facing pragmatist" apart from the direction I would like to move in.

But anyway, I'm sure everyone has heard by now of the Israel Palestine conflict. Minutes after the opening salvo pretty much the entire right wing was trying to blame Biden (of course, who else) for giving Iran 6 billion dollars. That was a lie, as the 6 billion to which they refer was actually Iran's own money. But instead of backing off the doubled down and insisted that being able to use 6 billion for one thing freed up 6 billion for attacks. So naturally it is now being reported that Iran never got the monet and in fact it's being frozen.

Don't right wingers feel even a little bit mad that they were lied to? And to be fair the outrage may very well be part of the reason Biden thought to have the 6 billion frozen, but that could have been brought to his attention without lies. Because it seems the reason for the lies is because the benefit is it increases the chance of scoring political crits but the cost is nonexistent because right wing voters don't hold their liars accountable..

I'm not right wing. I'm pissed off by all the lies by both the right and left. Corporate media is all propaganda. It tells you what to think and censors all else.
And all politicians are two-faced liars.

By the way, the left is also rage addicted, probably even more so.

The only thing like rage I've seen from the left are when right wingers intentionally try to "trigger the libs." And from what I understand "the libs" would prefer the right not do that, so I don't think that qualifies as addiction.

I see libs who thrive on moral outrage. They get fulfillment from pointing fingers, being politically correct and self righteous. That's the entire "woke" mentality. If they don't agree with you on even one issue, you are automatically a white nationalist, radical right wing, racist, sexist, transphobic, neo-Nazi.
They are humorless, shrill, confrontational and combative.

I have what I consider to be 60s/70s liberal values. I support peace, love, tolerance, open mindedness, justice, fairness, liberty, freedom, distrust of authority, and opposition to war and violence. Those values are the opposite of what passes for "liberalism" these days.

I've yet to see a liberal in real life who enjoys the culture wars. The far right fake news says that liberals enjoy it, but that's just to obfuscate the fact that 100% of culture fights are started by the right..

Oh, that reminds me, when I say "liberal in real life" I mean that precisely. Of course liberals in the media enjoy the culture wars. That's a consequence of right wingers owning all the media, including the 'liberal media' - the liberals on platforms owned by right wingers will discuss topics that benefit the right to discuss, while the liberals in real life might be entertained by it, in the back of their mind they're still wondering why this is more important that the big three (tax evasion, wage theft, and price gouging). And of course it is important-ish - women's sports, for example, the thing about trans people is liberals thing they ought to be given the equal protection of the law. But since the right insists every discussion about trans people be discussions about women's sports or bathrooms or drag story hour, the left wing media owned by the right happily helps with that. So, when everyone is talking about Disney being super woke, the liberals in real life are just like "is anyone at all going to talk about how many Disney employees are on welfare despite it being a multi-billion dollar company? Anyone?"
And I don't mean to downplay the role left wing people have in sustaining the culture wars - contrarily I think left wing people are sucked into it against their will in precisely the same way (not less than) right wing people are. It's just that because the right celebrates bullying and meanness, they seem to be less opposed to being sucked in - and in fact grow to love it. It doesn't change the fact that they are forced just the same as their counterparts on the left - they just get to climax out of it. And it doesn't change the fact that all of it just happens to benefit the owners of the media to have most people bow out of politics altogether, thinking there is no way to make the rich pay their taxes because everyone is mad about obscure nonsense, instead.

In recent memory, each side... as soon as they are handed some "ammo"... will make it "news". They rarely correct what they say, but in this case, it came out the $ wasn't released. Anything to slap the other side and point out how wrong they are. It's a political war for control. Why... because the $ is corrupt. Take away the money, they lose their power, and the voices quib. Get control of that printing press!!!

The media in general is disgusting... but have to take it for what it is... a sensationalist outlet to get eyeballs, clicks, for profit. Doesn't matter the theme... and each side has their themes that control and reinforce their audiences beliefs. How many people scan the views of the opposing side to try to find balance? A few...

Thus, turn it off or down, or accept it's crapola.

To anyone that can think... Iran doesn't need 6 billion to deploy a cache of explosives they've had on hand a long time. Needless to say... truth doesn't matter in the deep psyche... as soon as points are scored, they are not erased off the board.

Thus next time around, they must be much quicker to the draw and in communications about the ensuing mess. Managing the media... is managing the minds...
