Do you think there will be war soon?

Question

I don't want to get into politics with this but recently I've been really scared but a war will come with everyone that's happening at the moment. I don't think I will be drafted given the fact I have a serious heart condition but my partner on the other hand I'm very scared for.

He's the love of my life and I'm scared if he gets drafted ill never see him again. He's very strong but that doesn't mean anything war is war and you can't really out run things like a bomb or a gun depending on your strength. I don't want him to die, he's my everything and I'd be so lost without him. Even just knowing he'd be away from me for a long time would worry me.

It's coming up to poppy day in the UK and if you don't know what that is its a day we all come to remember does who were in the war and its really sad to see history starting to repeat itself after all them young men fought and lost there life's for are freedom for it to possibly be fought for again. It even annoys me to see how my generation is becoming some are extremely right wing and are being almost like the nazis there great grandads probably fought against and others are extremely left wing and everything is offends them and they also act like nazis to, they don't believe in freedom of speech unless it something that suits them and they believe everything they read on buzzfeed.

You see in movies and TV what them young men had to go through and I don't want that to have to be the same again

I don’t know about the UK, but our politicians in the US have learned by now that a draft only builds a shitty military.

In the US we have very efficient and competent all volunteer armed forces.

Thanks to the United States developing and using the first atomic bomb, and subsequent advanced development of nuclear weapons, on top of the arms race throughout the Cold War, a Third World War has not happened. More lives have been saved because of the development of nuclear weapons than all those killed in Hiroshima, Nagasaki and all nuclear accidents combined.

The chance of a Third World War breaking out are nil. A Third World War will go nuclear. No draft needed. If Putin were to try to use nukes on Ukraine, what sanity he has left, would be in question within the Kremlin. If some crazed Russian general was to go rogue and use a tactical nuke in Ukraine, Putin would have that general castrated. Then killed.

During the Vietnam War, North Vietnam was being supported by China and Russia. This is one reason why Washington chose, at first, not to carpet bomb North Vietnam. Russia had military advisors there. Had we killed any of them, so soon after the Cuban Missile Crisis, that would have most likely led to nuclear retaliation by Russia.

This is why it is so important for NATO and the US to support Ukraine. If Putin was allowed to annex Ukraine, all the other past Warsaw Pact countries would be next. That would increase the likelihood of a conventional war breaking out in the Balkans. Or possibly going nuclear. During the Cold War, the Balkans is where the US and NATO would have fought Warsaw Pact and Soviet Forces in a conventional conflict.

If we fail Ukraine, we fail Taiwan. China will see the US as weak, and take Taiwan. That puts NATO at risk because if the US is at war with China, NATO will be involved.

China doesn’t want war with the US and NATO because it is bad for their business plan.

As far as a regional conflict in the Middle East, there are plenty of voluntary forces and reservists from other middle eastern countries that a draft wouldn’t be necessary.

The world’s leaders have had all the World Wars not needed. Even if a miscalculation were to bring us to the brink of that Third World War, there is a good chance it would be limited and brief.

Of course war is on the way. The world is at war now. The conflict in Ukraine could have ended long ago, but some people seem to think negotiating and finding a diplomatic solution aren’t as profitable as asking the West to fund their country (and their war). Defense contractors and the politicians who have a financial interest in them are al too happy to keep the war going.

Wars have a way of escalating. They spread to other countries, sometimes on purpose, sometimes by accident. Eventually the people who are sent there to advise, train, equip, and maintain those who are directly involved in the war, sooner or later, get killed themselves. The US had advisers in Vietnam a few years before we ended up going into Vietnam with ground troops and aerial bombardment. And the war in Vietnam eventually spilled over into neighboring Laps and Cambodia.

War has a way of escalating, and continuing, because people profit off it. War is an industry. And the ones who make money off it aren’t the ones doing the fighting and dying.

But hey, they are more than happy to tell you why it’s sooooooooooo important the war continues. And why you’ve just GOT to vote for another funding bill for it. And if you don’t, well that means you’re a “sympathizer” or a “puppet.”

As far as I know there are already 3 wars going on. One of them is not talked about because it doesn't matter to Western countries.

But to answer your question, no I don't think there will a "World War" soon. World leaders know that they have a lot to lose, they're thinking about that.

As for your partner, don't worry he will stay with you.

I remember back in the 90's and after 911 a lot of people thought world war 3 was going to happen, but it never did. However I do believe one day world war 3 will actually happen.

i guess we don't have any "declared" wars but certainly what's going on with Ukraine and Russia and now with Israel and Hamas/Palestine would qualify to me as effectively war scenarios

War is ultimately inevitable as the oil runs out. Seems like we're hastening it by finding alternatives, leaving the oil field warlords desperate for more control. It's important not to give in to them but it would have been nice if anyone would have seen it coming.

Unfortunately I do think the world is headed for another world war. I don't see troops landing on American shores or anything like that but I wouldn't be surprised if we get into a nuclear exchange and hundreds of thousands of US troops get deployed. I think a lot of the tensions in the middle east are about to boil over into the worst breaking point we've ever scene in that region. Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and the super power of Iran all kind of hate America and see us as a great evil. We're tied to Israel and will defend them to the end so the might of the American Military will probably descend on that region once again. If we're smart maybe we can avoid adding China to our list of enemies and maybe turn things around with Russia. The Middle East is going to be a big enough problem on its own.

Ask the Ukrainians- or the Israelis. There already IS war; the only question is how big it's going to get.

As to your man- have him start making plans NOW. Ideally, have him start seven years ago, but it's a little late for that. Start stockpiling cash, too.

Yes. I just watched a video where the Director of the FBI warned that it’s almost certain there’s going to be a terrorist attack in United States. I was shocked because Biden has the Director of the FBI in his back pocket, and the Director saying this contradicts Biden‘s open border policy. And I also heard today that our military deployed 300 US troops, and while they won’t say where they’re going, they did say they’re not going to Israel. As for the draft, I give it a 50-50 chance.
