Why did pro ligers lie saying they wanted abortion to be a states right issue when they are trying to pass a bill that will make abortion illegal?

They claimed that when roe v wade was overturned, they would let states choose to make abortion a right or not. I guess that was a lie since now states are making abortion a state constitutional right like in California. So now the pro life theocrats are trying to pass a bill to make abortion illegal nationally to overturn states that made abortion a legally protected constitutional right. So to conservatives they are all for states rights as long as the states support conservative values but once they go against the republican party, oh they want to force states to comply. I bet if states start enforcing stricter gun laws, they will do something to take away the right to bear arms.

I'm not sure those people even knew what Roe vs Wade meant. Many of them thought it was the right to abortion and that once it was overturned abortion would be banned. I don't know that they ever wanted it to be a states issue. I guess a lot of politicians said that because they probably thought it sounded better than saying they wanted to ban it altogether.

1. Don't confuse Republicans with the supreme court. The supreme court did the right thing by leaving abortion up to the states.

2. I agree with you that it's stupid for the Republicans to want the federal government involved, again.

3. The Democrats were fine with the federal law of abortion, until the supreme court did the right thing and turned it over to the states.
