What are some legitimate online money-making opportunities that aren’t scams and are proven to work? Regarding ecommerce, stock investing, etc?

I see a ton of ads on social media everywhere about how to make money online, get rich, passive income, etc.

Its just the thing is

1) Some of them (or maybe even almost all of them) are probably scams

2) I don’t know the effectiveness of them

3) They probably oversell themselves

4) I’ve been able to find out very little outside information on them, outside of what they say about themselves.

5) I don’t feel confortable putting my money into something unless it’s verifiably safe to do so.

Anyway, I’d like to be able to make money online its just I don’t want to commit to anything unless I can be sure that it’s safe and it will work.

E-commerce is definitely pretty challenging though and requires a lot of different skills since there are so many moving parts.


It’s definitely more of a intermediate-level business model then a beginner-level business model.


As for stock-investing, if you want to go the truly passive route, then index funds are a solid strategy. You can see what Warren Buffet has to say about investing in the S&P 500 Index Fund here:

If you want to make money fast though, that’s either going to require tremendous luck (e. g. accidental viral fame which one can make money through built-in monetization-systems on a platform — or, with a little skill, they can leverage affiliate marketing opportunities) or tremendous skill (e. g. expert sales professionals and skilled entrepreneurs).


But, I believe it’s safe to assume that you don’t want to rely on luck.


In that case, you want to develop your skills.


If you want to also make your income passively, it’s going to require a lot of upfront work before you have a passive-income-producing machine that you can live off of.


Like, you can imagine this machine that you’re building that can generate the passive income you want — which is great — but it’s going to require that you build that machine first, and THAT is not going to be passive. Building that machine is going to take a lot of upfront work.


There are a lot of legit ways of making money and many of them work.


You don’t want to go for any pre-packaged route though (e. g. no MLMs or anything like that).


Instead, you want to learn the fundamentals — the science behind why and how a particular business model works.


Learning how and why a business model works takes time to learn and time to master.


Is there a particular style of running business that attracts you? How do you want to make your income? What about that method appeals to you?


You can paint with broad strokes to get an idea of what you want your life and business to look like in the future, and then accumulate the skills you need and build the business you need to accomplish those life and business goals.


For example, I value location freedom very much. That’s why the last several years has been dedicated to becoming a digital nomad. I’ve been able to achieve that. I’m able to work from anywhere in the world now. In fact, I’m literally typing this from a tropical island. My journey is far from over though. There’s more to my dream life that I want to actualize. The key is to figure out what you want in life and continually make decisions about your life/career/business that will bring you closer and closer to that reality.

I’d be curious to know how you made yourself out to be a digital nomad.

Where did you start from and what work did you take on? Are you an investor?

Location freedom is definitely something I value as well. With most jobs you’re kinda just geographically bound to one place unless you leave for another job.

I’d be down to put in several hours every week though to make things work though.

In a nutshell, to become a digital nomad, I needed to become a remote-working freelancer, with enough income to cover all my expenses.

There are all sorts of remote freelance work that one can do — whether that be designing, coding, writing, or something else.

For me personally, I chose copywriting (which is basically marketing/selling/branding through the written word).

I have a degree in psychology, 2.5 years of sales experience, and writing is one of my strong suites — so, I felt like copywriting was a very fitting skill for me to choose to hone.

I spent about a year learning how to do it — reading books, watching videos, taking some online courses, and building up a portfolio of sample work I could show future clients.

Once I had my skills at a level where I could offer services, and I had a portfolio of sample work, I landed some free working opportunities through networking.

It’s good to have some free projects under you belt because it gives you risk-free experience and also testimonials and social proof you can show future clients.

So I had my skills, my portfolio of sample work, and my growing portfolio of work I’ve done for free (in exchange for testimonials).

Then, I landed the opportunity to do some work for a successful 7-figure entrepreneur.

I made sure I put my best foot forward on this free client work, to prove what I could do.

He liked what he saw and offered to hire my services. I negotiated a monthly retainer, and in a couple months, I was able to quit my full-time office job after negotiating another pay raise.

(He liked my work and work ethic so much that he wanted to give me more projects to do and was willing to pay me more.)

Once I connected with this client, I was able to connect with other clients on a similar caliber, and landed an independent contractor role with an even bigger entrepreneur.

Since then, I’ve increased my income 4 times, and have been able to travel over 3000+ flight miles over the last year. 🙂

I’m not an investor YET, but I have looked into it.

One thing I learned from Alex Hormozi though is that the highest-ROI investment you can make, is investing in yourself — aka your own ability to make money.

If you invest in yourself, so that you can develop yourself and your skills, you can multiply your income much faster than the stock market.

Even if that means learning the skill of HOW to invest, in the beginning, skill-building is where you’ll get the most bang for you buck.

My personal philosophy is I think someone should try to work on their skills until their skills can pay them 6-figures a year, and then from there they can decide whether to go into investing or building a bigger business.

For me personally, I want to build a 7-figure business before I invest in stocks/bonds because my highest return investment is going to be investing in my own business.

In a way, as an entrepreneur, I’d be my own angel investor, making big returns on investments I made in my own business.

But back to the digital nomad thing.

If you want to become a digital nomad, the first step is to pick a skill that you’re willing to spend the next year or so learning/honing/improving and then, as a remote freelancer, you can sell services around that skill.

Most paid for courses on making money online are scams. You don’t need to pay people to make money, you can find a lot of free information on Youtube.

I used to be a member of Andrew Tate’s Hustler’s University. I joined when he dropped the price to $50, because I wanted to see if it was legit. He didn’t teach anything in there himself, instead he had a bunch of supposed experts teaching things like copywriting, Amazon FBA, affiliate marketing, real estate, stocks and crypto. Some of them literally just posted other peoples’ youtube videos, and that was all.

The only advice that was good, the only good guys on there, was the crypto section. They taught things and gave advice that went completely against the type of advice you’d get from other crypto experts you’ll find on youtube. I made a lot of money based on their advice and gained a much better understanding of how crypto works.
The one guy I follow from there, I’m not sure whether he’s a part of HU anymore because he seemed to be liking tweets that were talking bad about Tate. Definitely worth following and listening to on twitter if that’s something you wanna get into - @cryptodan19

Yeah he was the best, the only one I think was legit.

Back in 2021 when Bitcoin peaked at around $61000 he told us to sell, and then he said don't expect crypto to behave in the same way it did throughout 2020/2021, for the next year or two. To expect a long bear market. That's exactly what happened.

Meanwhile, the other crypto "experts" you'll find on youtube and elsewhere were telling people to keep "buying the dip" and to expect it to go up again soon, which would have been good advice in 2020/21. Anybody who followed that advice lost money.

The average content creator only makes $300/month on that platform though, so one needs to be very attractive or leverage existing fame if they want to really get their money’s worth.

It’s platform-dependent though so if OnlyFans were to ever update their policies in a certain way, one’s entire income can evaporate overnight.

OnlyFans creators should diversify their income streams for added stability. 💪
