Yes, prison isn’t meant to be a reward so maybe they should be sent to the one they least prefer to go to but only if they do something bad and criminal. Good people don’t deserve to suffer.

Why do u care? Are u planning on going to prison urself and worried u may encounter a trans person there? They're no more dangerous than other prisoners, but are usually at higher risk of danger than other prisoners. Wherever they're sent, they're likely to end up in solitary at least part of the time bc of transphobic prisoners. So if u do go to prison and meet a trans person (man or woman), just don't threaten or attack them for no reason? Solitary in American prisons is literally classed as psychological torture by other countries. U don't want that.

Especially child rapists, and most transphobes still think trans people are groomers just by being trans. What do u think they'd do if they found themselves locked in a room with someone they believe is a child predator? Not just rape them, probably.

I think they should go to the prison that their body is currently in if they have transitioned send then to the assigned prison if it would cause fears of safety for the other prisoners keep them is solitary confinement or give the option to a prison of the born sex

It doesn't matter what disguise you wear when commuting a crime. If you are convicted you go to the appropriate jail. If you throw on an ape mask when you rob a bank, they don't house you at the local zoo for the term of your imprisonment. You still go to normal jail to be housed with other inmates, segregated based on your sex.

They should go based on the biological sex. There have been multiple cases where male rapists will identify as women and get sent to women's prison and have some unfortunate women locked up in cells with them. It's literally rewarding rapists with a taxpayer-funded harem.
