Why are we supposed to act like our age, what constitutes how an adult our age should act?

For example, in the village, I have a secret spot on my fence, where I’d get into my yard, the fastest.

I’ve got a bench, I’d jump on that bench, then I’d jump on the fence, then there was a stair, I’d jump on it and I’d get into the yard the fastest and would open the locked door for others as a surprise.

I hated to wait too long till my parents would unlock the door.

I know it might be childish, but I really enjoyed that and always did that in childhood.

Last time I did it was last year before leaving to China, then I thought

“What will my neighbors think? I am already 25, I can’t crawl on fences at this age. People don’t do that.”

Now I wonder, why should I feel limited to do something just because of my age if it gives me some pleasure?

This question comes from something my family told me

“Don’t tell anyone you broke your leg while zigzag racing. It’s too childish. Why is 27 yo zigzag racing with coworkers?”
