Masks really don't seem to be effective at preventing covid and I am a very healthy guy. Despite my age, I don't feel particularly vulnerable if I do get it again.
Youāll need to try harder
@Paris13
The scary thing about covid19 is that a good immune system does not really help you at all. Being healthy does not provide you with particularly good protection against it either. You are basically just relying on pure chance to see if you are vulnerable or not, and I do not like to gamble personally.
Okay, stop for a moment and THINK; basic natural selection, now. What does a virus "want", in an evolutionary sense? Contagiousness, yes; no one will deny Covid has that. But it also wants low lethality, since a virus that kills its hosts has a MUCH harder time spreading, especially in a species like humans, that isolates the dead. This is why, as time passes, strains of a rapidly-mutating virus like Covid become predominant if they're better adapted to the situation, which means being less dangerous. Not more, LESS.
The only people who haven't been exposed are those who isolated themselves and thus weakened their immune systems by lack of exposure to OTHER pathogens. I wasn't that stupid. I never put one on in the first place.
And now I live in Florida, the American capital of sanity and resistance to Covid madness. That one sentence should show you the madness of the whole situation: to find sanity, I had to come to Florida.
I carry a mask at times and put it on if I see sick people around or close quarters or doing outside work, but will avoid wearing it all the time. I rarely wear it.
I had a house full of sick people recently, some very sick.. think was the flu. I wore my mask around them and cleaned and stayed healthy. Maybe it helps... some.
The other thing is be aware of surroundings and avoid sick people if possible... if you can see they are visibly sick... e. g. like service workers.
The statistics show the flu and covid are killing people.. still... the flu is possibly worse. The nurses I know recently reported "situation RED... were maxed out" in multiple areas. you don't want to go to the ER right now, call your hospital if you aren't sure that's true. So yea, it's a problem at least in some areas (east coast), but not getting the attention of last time around.
I know of people killed by covid in prior years. People whom don't take it seriously, put themselves at serious risk. This is not a rational, linear, logical problem you can control.
I don't see a case for extreme behavior at this point.
you can have whatever belief you want. I suspect they have as well to some degree and killed people. but I got covid more than once and it was much less, just a cold 2nd time. 1st time it was like death. It's job was to lesson the effects and it did that for some at least. People thinking there's some magic cure is the problem.
Again... I know the people (indirectly and directly) whom did not get the vaccine and died. Some did not regret the choice but still did a slow suffocation death and others did regret it.
It's not much different than swimming in open waters with sharks. Be smart, measure your risks... except the risks of covid impact are much higher than shark bite.
Nope. Masks don't work anyway. The government said it did, and directed the media to report that it did, but now they admit they knew all along.
I complied the first time, just to avoid people freaking out on me. But I bought special masks that are made from really thin material... I could spit on someone through those masks I bought.
I think it's the new flu... My wife got it twice and she was forced to wear masks constantly and get all the shots way before I got any.

I think most people are fed up with the government lies, media lies, and corporate lies. Those that aren't would probably think an Amazon tattoo is punk rock.
It just sucks more people didn't catch onto what was going on. The news and media in general was just like, "Get the shot! Get the shot!" and then the commercial would come on saying "This is brought to you by Phizer." It was so blatantly obvious who paid who to say what. ... and then with all the suppression of any naysayers... even more obvious.
The people who were all in a panic, going over the top out in the real world about it... I don't really blame them... they're sheeple and just believe and do what their told without any questions.
I hate one word answers..
So , I will say ABSOLUTELY NOTE , we have been hoodwinked enough by the utter utter bullshit of covid 19 , " they " achieved nothing. they kicked the can down the road , thats it.
To try and bring back any of this ludicrous CRAP , will never again be accepted , people are simply NOT that stupid , to have a functional immune , you need to be out there involved in life , and life does not mean the wearing of a filthy piece of dirty cloth , disgusting.
NO , NO , NO NO and NO , and it will never again be accepted either , not remotely practical or sensible.
The first time I caught covid was from take out containers. I hadn't even left the house in a month. The second time was from in-laws I didn't know had already tested positive. At no point did I catch it from being outside with no mask.
That being said, I don't go out much, so I'm not likely to catch it being out. It is a very nasty sickness, but the swine flu is what almost killed me. We don't wear a mask for that, and I caught it from touching a gas station pump. So, it just seems odd to me to wear a mask for something less severe. My immune system needs more stimulation not less as well.
Well... I am personally unafraid of death, and neither am I afraid of covid (it's the same type of virus that the one causing the common cold - yeah, the common cold is caused by a variant of a coronavirus - once our bodies adapt to recognize it as a threat, it's a joke of a threat). I might slap it on mostly for anonymity reasons, but I'm unwilling to wear it for extended periods of time as I don't want to contract some fungal lung disease. In times when You can order just about anything to be delivered to Your front door, I think that if someone is afraid of covid, they will be perfectly fine staying in their homes, with the delivery personnel most likely following all the safety procedures.
No, I'm not going to wear one. What we have to remember is covid, aka the sars virus, has been around for over a century, and it has mutated several times. That is what viruses do to survive, they mutate to become more contagious, but not necessarily more dangerous, usually less dangerous.
There's currently over 50 different variants or strains. As far as masks themselves, and whether they're effective or not, people can argue that until the cows come home, it's a moot point. Wearing one is totally up to an individual if they want to, not the government to implement a mandate.
Too be honest we need to move on, there will always be the flu, covid, rsv, etc. we need to live our lives, plain and simple.
Itās mostly the vaccinated people who are catching Covid and making a big deal out of it. Every time they get it itās worse than before. Meanwhile the unvaccinated donāt test, and say they had a little cold.
I think that how severe someone thinks it is depends on belief and how much they buy into it. Itās psychological.
Itās like believing in ghosts vs not believing in ghosts. You hear a creak in the middle of the night, your bedroom door slowly swings open. If you believe in ghosts youāre convinced that your house is haunted. If you donāt believe in them you think it was just wind.
The vaccinated people listen to the news telling them that thereās a new worse strain, then when they catch it they believe it, they tell each other itās the worst theyāve had so far. The unvaccinated arenāt watching the news, donāt care, donāt make a big deal out of it, itās just a cold.
Since I'm older, yes I would. I haven't had covid and don't want it. It'd knock me out of work, and I have no sick days since I've used all my paid time off from this year.
Also the flu has bumped a lot of people. I just quit a job where I was around hundreds of people who were going in and out of the country. Part of my quitting was because of being exposed to too many people.
You can't eliminate risk, but you can lower it. I'm on board with that.
i am sorry about that. remember when parents forced us to go school when we coughed... if we said sick at school, nurse took temperatures and said stay? that is how we need to allow people to choose. recommend mask a few comply but no mandate. and gather in school when sick as our childhood.
If it spread as it did a couple of years ago I would wear one. I have diabetes and asthma, and I was told I wouldn't survive if I caught Covid because my body woulnt be strong enough to fight it off.
People keep saying those vaccines don't work, but I would have died by now if I wouldn't have been vaccinated. Everyone's bodies are different, and some people's bodies respond differently to vaccines. I learned that the last two years I've been diabetic.
so say the people who want to sell vax.
Nope! Neither Masks or Vaccines stopped the first round nor the second or third and it won't stop whatever round we are on now.
No more masks and no more vaccines for me! I'm done with that shit!
I was in a conversation with 3 other coworkers where I was called a moron because I got the vaccine. I actually got the vaccine 3 times. I was the only one of the 3 that never got covid. 1 got covid twice and spread it to his wife and 3 children. 1 got covid three times and the 3rd got covid twice.
it is r. n. a. "genetic" not usual vax. only fools get rna unless bullied.
I put my mask on in hospitals or in sandyford for my contraception if I have a cold I wear it outside and in the house so no one else gets it am very protective and clean that way I even put toilet roll on public toilets like ones in the gym or shopping markets or restraunts library doctors hospitals or sometimes I put sanitizer on the seats or take my back pack and take a small packet of disinfectant wipes and wipe one then dry it I don't know whos sat on them before me Its better to be safe than sorry that's why still wear my mask in hospitals and sandyford or doctors
I personally don't think I would, not because I don't believe in masking, or covid, or believe its a hoax. I just don't want to go back to that world we lived in, we all pretty much got covid anyway and It was years wasted from connection with friends and family. I still respect the mindset that if you're sick stay home, if you're really sick take a test and then isolate the best you can.
Uh yea and no because the mask holds bacteria and it doesn't really do much I rather just keep my distance from people and be to myself and when I'm around a crowd or anything like that put it on
Thank you
It has been proven that masks do not help prevent catching a virus or spreading it. Therefore I will not be wearing a mask.
I watched an anti-vaxxer acquaintance die from COVID-19 after refusing the jab. Yes, I will wear the mask.
The masks came from China. Covid came from China. They are finding that the jab may be or is causing āmicro blood clots ā making people sick.
My answer is no!
OMG Iām tired of this covidyshitty thingy. Pardon my language! Not that itās effective but I wear it!
Have to at work and I wear one around my dad because he has cancer. Other then that I literally donāt leave my house 🤷🏻āāļø
Iāve gotten the latest BioNTech booster vaccine for that exact reason. The Covid 19 cases have been sharply increasing for the last few weeks.
Novavax? That got updated, too:
www.fda.gov/.../novavax-covid-19-vaccine-adjuvanted
Mask mandates are returning:
www.newsweek.com/covid-cases-mask-mandates-highest-rates-1856689
Nope. my masks are safely put away. The only time I wear a mask now is if I'm forced, as I was when I went to a doctor's office.
No! I'm going to follow the science.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/FK-ZyUjgFBIHe probably bought an island and is counting his money.
If experts asked me to when Iām in crowds.
And FYI- we wouldn't have this ānew strainā if everyone fucking vaxxed. If it were Ebola and you were bleeding out your eyeballs youād vaccinate.
thousands vax also got sick and spread it.
@strateguy632 no they didnāt. Shows how little you understand. They got the sniffles and the unvaxxed died. Not fast enough unfortunately.
I already wear it due to my paranoia, so yeah, I'll continue to wear it.
I spent plenty of time in Asia where masks are commonplace. I never understood the pushback.
personal freedom is important in the west.
@strateguy632 Yeah I know. I'm a southern American. but I get shot at for a living. having to wear a mask doesn't even jiggle my give a shite meter
Hell NO!!! It has been proven that they don't do anything anyway. Ny wife is a nurse and had to be vaccinated and she came home with covid and neither me or our 2 kids got it, none of us are vaccinated besides her.
I never wore masks the first time not even once. I told you guys on this site before COVID-19 was even named COVID-19 and before it even got to America that masks would not work. I told you to wash your hands properly, to not touch your face, and to not take the experimental mRNA vaccines. That's what I did and I have still never caught COVID-19, I also haven't caught the common cold or influenza in the same time period.
I have to wear the mask again at my job because there was another Covid outbreak.
terrible how they bully people about this.
Theyāre not bullying us. Itās required by the rules of the place. If weāre caught without our masks, weāre either put on report or fired. It depends on how many demerits we have.
I don't give a rat's ass about covid. The last time I got it, I just stayed in my room and smoked cigarettes
No, doesnāt do much for anyone those masks and I never got it so Iām probably very resistant to it
I doubt they will mandate it here again, the masks donāt work anyway
Ever notice it suddenly appears just under 11 months going towards election day? The Radical Lib-Tard Democrats trying to make history repeat itself
Wearing a cloth mask to resist a virus is like a resisting a mosquito flying through to St Louis Arch. The authorities knew this during mask mandates. The purpose of the mask mandates was to get the commoners used to government control. Look for new strain or disease to "emerge" as the next election approaches. They think they can do this again.
I haven't brought one out yet. If it gets that bad I will sooner hibernate.
I have no issues wearing one if needed. I have too much going on to get sick.
Yup, donāt mind wearing. I wear one when I do outdoor work anyway
Hell no. I barely wore it the last time. It is useless.
FUCK NO. I am DONE with masks. Lock my ass up, but NOPE to masks.
Most people donāt wear masks anymore a couple here and there
Yeah I would. Itās not mandatory, but some people in my school are wearing masks.
That's not really what trying to tell us to mask on so they don't have to see my face.
You shouldn't have stopped wearing masks for starters
I have a full face mask that's pretty cool I used that once. Got some pictures.
About a year ago i threw about 100 masks into the bin
No. I'd just get some HCQ.
Never. And I won't take another vaccine either.
And the first strain almost killed me.
Ditto OlderAndWiser.
Yeah, it is no big deal
Please, Covid is so 2021!
I'm done with the useless masks.
I would just put the damn thing on the ground stomp it two and three. The light a match and burn it to he'll 😈👍🏼
Didnāt wear one before, certainly not going to wear one now.
Covid never went away
Not for me thanks 🙂
Not if it isn't legally required
Nope I wouldn't put a mask on ever again.
Nope
Hmph! If I must.
annoying... so's an ant bite.
