Why are we Millenials the only generation that cherish and embrace our childhood?

when you ask baby boomers which were the best years of their lives they usually say it was in their 30s as if their childhood and teen days had no meaning. of course most of them did when straight to become adults and starting families by the time they entered their 20s so I can see why they did not enjoy their 20s, or as much as we did. its also pretty rare to hear them talk about things that were around in their childhood like tv shows, cartoon, music, toys, etc like we millenials do.

Gen X in the other always claim it was in their in their teens and 20s and that's of course because unlike the boomers these guys enjoyed their youth more. the standards of settleling down and starting a family when up to the 30s when these guys ran the show so they had more time to enjoy their teens and 20s such as going partying, clubbing, sleeping around, etc.

now we millenials in the other hand are a totally different story. you ask us what was the best years in our lives and we will not shut up about the 90s and all the shows, cartoon and music that we watched and listened to those days along with the toys we played with. we also had the chance to enjoyed our adulthood like Gen Xs did yet we seem to take it for granted.

lastly Gen Zs usually try to sound like us. I've heard a lot of them considered themselves 90s kids despite being born in the late 90s themselves and most of the tv shows, cartoons, etc that they claim to enjoy were the same that we enjoyed in the 90s.

so I was wondering, did we millenials had the best childhood in history? was the 90s really the a halcyon for children to be alive?

There's definitely something to that, dude. I think for Millennials, the 90s just felt like such an innocent, carefree time before everything got all complicated with social media, school shootings, economic crashes and all that.

Things seemed more simple back then. We had awesome cartoons to watch, rad toys and video games to play with the whole squad. No one had phones or laptops glued to their faces 24/7. We just vibed and had fun with friends all day.

I also think we kinda understood we were in the good ol' days even as kids. Like we knew Toy Story and Mario 64 were the sickest things ever. Now looking back, those memories are so special to us.

Boomers and Gen X probably didn't reflect as much cuz they were always pushing ahead to "grow up." But we got to enjoy childhood for what it was before life smacked us in the face, you feel me?

I dunno man, maybe we are extra nostalgic. But the 90s just felt like the prime era to be a kid. Nothing will ever top Saturday morning cartoon sessions or going to Blockbuster on the weekend with fam. Best times!

Lol I just got an old soul man but I wish I was around in the 80s and 90s since I caught on to the short end of the stick. Back in the 90s when big movies were out, wrestling was big as well boxing too

Oh, everyone does. Just for older people "childhood" seems to have ended later. When you are 70 you will think you were still a child at 30.

I believe it is one of the "stages of grief" that occur as we mourn ourselves. Giving up on eternal youth so instead longing for when we were just notably younger, and I think as people reflect on that the general rule is we always feel we were the right combination of physically young and mentally matured (i. e. "the end of childhood") at roughly one third of our current age.

Maybe because ours was the first generation that grew up with "childhood" items that were more interesting than jacks or rolling a wooden wheel down the street. Maybe because of that we never really grew up - video games, essentially, started in our generation and they have since become one of the largest global industries; plus our childhood shows and movies are regularly rehashed. Our childhood grew up, and evolved, alongside us. So, we never really outgrew it.

lets also not forget that a lot tragedies like September 11, the war in Iraq, and the economy collapsing afterwards really fucked up our adulthood transictioning
