Should we hold anti-Patriotic corporations accountable?

Corporations advertise how patriotic they are to US consumers. I say we make them prove it.

This is Henry Ford accepting an award from the Nazis after building their fleet of mechanized armor. Used against our allies and us.

Banks launder money for Iran, North Korea and Russia.

And you’d think Apple is an American company right? Nope. It moved to Ireland for better taxes.

We should have corporations prove their patriotism

If they aren’t patriotic or American, they should pay extra tax

I'm a hard core capitalist. One thing about capitalism that people seem to neglect is that consumers are part of the equation. It's up to the consumer to decide who to buy from and who to not buy from. It's up to the consumer to see through marketing BS. It's up to the consumer to decide if they agree or disagree with what a company does - or to not give a shit.

But consumers are selfish. As long as they get a perceived good deal, they don't give a shit what a company does. So companies get by with whatever BS they are doing. Consumers share the responsibility, but never point the fingers and themselves.

I am too…ish. I see the unmistakable wealth generation capitalism brings because it plays off our best and worst human traits.

But that’s where Marx may have had a few small good points.

Marx had some good points - for the time period he lived and the aristocratic society prevalent in many parts of Europe at the time. If I lived in that time and place, I would probably have been a socialist and blowing shit up. But I don't live in that time and place, and Marx is way our of date.

There are similarities, and some important differences.

I'm not against some high inheritance or estate taxes for very high value estates. But I think the structure of it gets very tricky.

I think people should earn their wealth. I also think parents should be allowed to pass their hard earned wealth on to their children. There is a difference between a nice inheritance and so fucking wealthy that you can buy a small nation without ever working a day.

Companies and the uber wealthy can't be taxed because they use legal loopholes to avoid paying taxes. It like Hillary and Obama criticising Trump for using tax loopholes yet they wouldn't change the tax code because their donner use them.

Are we going to go after us Companies that had dealings with the nazis, Soviets, Japanese, china, israel, ukraine, russia British empire etc?

I do think it's ridiculous that Ford, GM, kodak, itt were still trading in nazi products built with slave labor or would later get compensation from the US government for bombing their factories in Germany.

It’s tricky. Capitalism works so well because it plays off human behavior. That’s where Marx was saying socialism (who said that!) brings in a govt regulatory part that balances.
