I'm an extreme case of the night owl. I was actually sleep-deprived for most of my childhood since I generally didn't fall asleep until around 2 to 4 AM even back then.
The night always energized me for some reason. It might just be psychological and based on some conditioning. I have no idea. I just know I get hyper-energized in the night. It's when I want to dance, sing, bounce off of walls (literally) when I was a child.
The daytime is when I often wanted to sleep, take naps, looking forward to the excitement of the night. The night was also always more beautiful to me than the daytime.
I never found the blue skies and a glowing sun all that attractive. Kids would draw it in crayons whereas I'd draw the moon and the stars and find it much more appealing. There's more negative space with the darkness. A foreground object illuminated at night gains maximum visual focus without everything being so brightly lit.

Negative space was always very beautiful to me that way. The more negative space there is, the more the foreground comes into focus. This energizes and excites me.
I also find I tend to focus better at night. It might be related to the visual metaphor; as night brings darkness, and darkness brings visual focus to fewer things brightly lit, so too do my thoughts tend to shift towards fewer things of focus.
It might simply be because I've been awake a longer time, typically, at night. Over the course of the day, I think about so many different things and tend to be a bit unfocused unless I'm doing something very thrilling or requiring maximum focus.
Yet by night time, I've typically had enough time over the course of the day to filter out a lot of my excessive thoughts and concentrate on fewer thoughts. I become more focused, even when I'm not doing anything that demands focus.
My senses also become sharpened. I taste better, smell better, see better, feel more alert. The day doesn't energize me so much. Thinking about it a lot makes me feel a bit tired. The night is when things slow down and I speed up.
I always thought the phrase implied that owls aren't birds.

I mean, go ahead and enjoy your worms, little bluebird; we tigers of the sky have our giant eyes set on loftier foods. Plus we look like toasted marshmallows, so hey, bonus points.
both bc my brain hates me
i don't sleep long and my body takes FOREVER to sleep bc insomnia. so im up asleep early in the morning and awake early in the morning lmfao
I am whatever the work schedule tells me to be.

I'm definitely a night owl. There's something about the night that just feels right. Not to say that the daytime can't have it's beauty, but as beautiful as a nice, clear and sunny day is, a nice, clear and moonlit night is much more beautiful. Not to mention if you want to take a walk at night not many people are gonna be around so you have more privacy, or if you're up trying to concentrate on studies or other stuf, it's usually more quiet at night since others are usually asleep.
Night owl. Here I am at 10:39 PM asking questions on GAG and answering the ones others have asked. I'll probably still be here at midnight.
Both actually. My circadian rhythm is all screwed up. I work nights so I sleep during the day. But on my days off I wake up at around d 4 am. But I tend to go to bed around mid right on my days off. Sometimes because of my schedule I just stay up all night the. Sleep for a few hours during the day.
Night Owl. My colleagues wonder how I can sleep at 1 and get up at 5. And that is a good question, I don't know. I just do.
Easier in the early 20s until 30s, I should know, I'm aging 😁🥳
Early bird...
If the office you have to sync every morning is in Tokyo and you live in Europe, you have to be a very early bird :D
I know this is going to sound really weird, but I'm both great in the mornings AND at night. but it's during the day I can get a bit:-
definitely a night owl...
if it were up to me, I would wake up around 11am every day... but one has to do the adult thing to do...
Both. There is an expression "burning your candle at both ends". My candle has three ends, all burning!

I am a night owl, but even I need my goodnights sleep eventually.
Definitely a night owl. I have little tolerance for daylight. Moonlight feels right.
I switch frequently, I don't sleep too regularly since I stay drunk most of the time
Early bird. Even if I've been out drinking all night I still wake up like at 5
