I left a comment on a video of a man showing how to catch a shark when fishing. I enjoyed it greatly, but in the end, he threw the bull shark back, and I left a comment in which I disagreed with his decision to do so. This made him angry, and he started replying to me. Am I the A-hole?🤔🤔

You where slightly and unintentionally agressive in your commenting. From your post I get your just lamenting that the shark was 'wasted' to how you see it. However, the guy replying was overly defensive and unnecessarily agressive in response. He also doubled down on a personal kind of attack (so I'm guessing he's either young or a bit dickish).

So, your choice of phrase saying 'that could have kept your whole family fed for a month' was not well considered. Your in no position to comment on the use of the shark, had you said 'wow that could have fed a whole family, I'm sad it was thrown back, felt like a waste'. It would have been your comment and reflected just an opinion, but your choice of wording turned it into something sounding like you might have been criticising him for his choices and suggesting he was letting down his family.

So yeah, no a-holes but the responder was definitely unnecessary and immature.

He seems thin-skinned. I know he says he wins, because the algorithm likes comments, but ultimately, he has more to lose reputation-wise than you do.

I feel a bit sorry for the bull shark, though, that guys are arguing on YouTube whether to euthanize it or not.

People starve everyday and we spend money to type stuff on here that hardly changes any aspect of anyone's quality of life, instead of using the money to feed people without the basic needs to survive. We are all the A-hole.
