That's clearly not his current stance on the subject unless it's taken way out of context, but regardless, it raises a fundamental ethical issue with trying to sit on the fence with the issue of abortion.

If abortion is murder (which it is in almost all cases if going by basic science or the fundamental values western civilization claims to be built on), then it doesn't make sense not to punish the mother for seeking one out more or less the same way you'd punish someone for hiring a hitman, yet the overwhelming majority of pro-life advocates don't want to do that in any way, shape or form. Furthermore, let's hypothetically say that the popular stance of making exceptions for Rape, Incest, and "Life of the Mother" (which technically shouldn't be included because death of the baby is a byproduct not the intent), you would still effectively outlaw 99-99.4% of the abortions that are carried out in the United States.

Using that number, and applying it to CDC statistics (which tend to undercut the real number by hundreds of thousands), "~600,000 women plus their accomplices become felons every year" is a politically unsavory tagline, especially for a party or individuals that claim to be against government overreach. This is also before factoring in IVF, which is another can of worms that people who are absolutists on the subject of abortion can't really rationalize a solid argument in favor of, since it involves the discarding or perpetual storage of millions of fertilized human eggs. If accepting the scientific fact that life begins the moment sperm fertilizes an egg, then this is effectively no different when based on outcomes.

Another clash here is that in the USA at least, the federal government doesn't really have a role in abortion, as it is constitutionally delegated to the states. This poses a problem if accepting that abortion is murder, because now you'd have fifty states that aren't on the same page. The supreme Court overturning RoevWade was basically a reminder of this fact, but a constitutional amendment to circumvent this would likely fail regardless of who pitches it since the overwhelming majority of Americans (~70%) do hold a position somewhere in the middle based on arbitrary numbers or a simplistic view on when life begins and must be protected.

The bottom line however is that the US's massive abortion numbers, as well as violent crimes, mental health problems, etc are all rooted in a society that has largely elevated narcissism and degeneracy, and so making a serious effort to cull these numbers would require at least two generations educated accordingly, and politicians are allergic to anything that doesn't generate immediate results (which is also why long term problems never get addressed let alone solved).

No. Where is the punishment for the man who put her in that position? Here’s something for the so-called Christians out there. Why will you force a woman, who likely doesn’t have the means to support a child, to have a child as a form of punishment and then do whatever you can to make sure that child has almost zero chance of succeeding in life? Hypocrites all of you. If you are going to force a woman to have a child. Then the male who got her pregnant should be, by LAW, required to care for that child too. In fact, there should be a marriage ACT. If you knock a girl up, it is automatic that you get married. And, if you are under age, the now grandparents pay for the child until the parents turn 18 or they sign consent for the underage kids to legally be married. Sound stupid? So does forcing a kid to have a kid.

I wouldn't word it that way. I do think women need to understand there is a PRICE to be paid for everything in life. I'm not saying all women. But too many women today take no responsibility for thier actions (yes, men to). Abortion should be the NUCLEAR option. It should be almost unthinkable. And should ALWAYS be an absolute last resort. I don't want to punish any woman. I want the immature ones to understand there are real life and death consequences for her actions.

I think abortion should be legal. But I think if a woman comes in for a second abortion she should be sterilized at that point. Because think about it. Everyone wins in that scenario. No more babies have to murdered anymore for her choices. And she's free to get her f*** on with whomever she wants. And others don't have to pay the price.
