Why are American men regarded boring compared to European lads?

It’s not that they’re boring, it’s that they take a lot more time to state their actual interest, whereas European guys are way more direct (without being overtly rude, of course). They also tend to know that — feminism or not — a gentleman opens doors and pulls out chairs and generally offers a helping hand or an umbrella, etc etc etc…. It’s automatic. They don’t ask, they just do. And even the bit**y girls are at least awkwardly grateful.

Here? Can I just say it’s a complete sh**show or will the tar and feathers come out? It’s like the concept of being a gentleman fell clear out of some guys’ minds. (Of course to many of my guy friends on G@G, this doesn’t apply. I’m not saying ALL American men are like this, but some REALLY take the cake in terms of not knowing how to treat a woman like a lady.)

So, HL, so many women just want their honest, chivalrous hero to step up for them, to treat them properly… respectfully… with the dignity a lady deserves, but it’s not a very common practice, either bc some men are set on remaining boys forever … and, if truth be told, bc they’re seeking out little chippies rather than trying to find ladylike women to be with. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Depends on who you ask I guess but I think most of the world would consider Americans more boring. Why? Because Americans are mostly isolationists. They do not really know what happens around the world and has very little interest in learning. If Americans only really cares about American things then you dont have as many things to connect over.

If two people meet from different cultures then these things that can bridge the gap is important to form meaningful conversations and shared interests. If Americans only talk about and understand their own culture then it does not really matter how broad and diverse that culture is, its not going to be as compelling to someone not of the same culture.

Well, I have one parent from the US and one from Europe, and half lived for a long time in both. Being an American was more helpful in Europe than the other way around, but I didn't fit the European stereotypes of a USian, so there was that.

So I guess it depends on whose perspective we're talking about.

Because American men are too busy working. That's the one drawback to living in the largest economy on the planet. You're either running the capitalist machine or you're a cog in it. And not everyone can run the machine.
