m 1 yPersonally, this empowerment jargon stings a little, because I see this as corporate bullshit related. For the sake of words, I'm going to talk about emancipation instead. That brings me a clearer view on the topic. As I can see converging ideas:
Since emancipation is about understanding the internal constraints we live in, sociological, psychological, philosophical and political. Then for me, we need to facilitate emancipation on all fronts possible, for everyone and 24/7.
Specifically, about men relation to domestic universe, well, legislatively speaking, many western countries have already set in motion parental leave for women AND men. That's something telling about social recognition.
Apparently, extreme inequalities per countries, though, for fathers:
00 weeks of parental leave for USA
05 weeks of parental leave for UK
54 weeks of parental leave for South Korea lol10 Reply

1 y“If we’re empowering women to seek independence, shouldn’t we also be empowering men to be domestic and stay home?“
Better idea, empower both genders in their respected fashion. Go “You Can Do Anything You Put Your Mind To! You Go ___ !” To both genders. Don’t leave anyone behind, for one.
Second, show men & women together how to be well mannered, respectable, honest, hard working and mature individuals based not on gender, but on human ethics & decency. Show them the people that came before and teach how they can become that while planting the seeds of future early. Not too late.

1 yWe shouldn't be telling anyone how things should be at all. There should be no set way of life for everyone to follow. That's the biggest issue with the people who say "women should all be more traditional and pop out 8 babies and be housewives"
No, all women shouldn't at all. Women should do whatever the hell they feel comfortable and happy doing.
Same with men.
If women want to be housewives then go ahead. If other women want to be successful CEOs then absolutely do it.
Same for men. It should all be acceptable.
For anybody saying "oh society would be much better if men did this and women were back in the house and had less options"
Those people should be cast out of our society. Trying to remove options from anyone is removing freedom.
That's fascism and fascist should be executed at all costs.50 Reply
Absolutely 😊. Great point.

1 yIt’s more complicated than that. You can have a couple where both people are working on their careers and they don’t have kids. Or they have kids but have enough money to hire a nanny (who granted is probably female) to take care of the domestic stuff.
Guys don’t need to be empowered to stay home and raise the kids. They’ve always had that right. But until a couple generations ago women didn’t have the right to go out and work at high powered jobs like doctors and lawyers and hedge fund managers.
10 Reply 449 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Couples should just work as a team and work together and not against each other , me personally will not get into a relationship with a girl that expects me to do everything while she sits on her ass and does nothing but use me for money. A girl that works with me as a partner I will keep her by my side as much as possible , If she makes more money than me and it’s cheaper for me to stay at home and take care of the house and kids I would be fine with that but the second the kids are older and capable of taken care of themselves then I would go back to work and work with my partner so her and I can go do things together like vacations etc.. A loving couple will have each others’ backs no matter what if you both are a team working together

Is 2024 we shouldn't have to empower anybody it should be in their DNA if you want something you have to go out and get it I don't care if you're a man or a woman if you're a man you want to take care of your kids take care of your kids if you're a woman and you want a big job go get it you can do it
Forget what society thinks are with their rules or regulations are you have your own set of rules and regulations in your brain make it work for you no matter what it is10 Reply
1 yBeing independent means you are basically an adult. Women don't want a stay at home husband. Even the most non traditional feminist still wants a masculine traditional man. To be honest a couple is very lucky if they can afford one of them to stay home.

1 yHere's a crazy idea: Paid maternity AND paternity leave for 18 months split between the parents. Japan, Sweden & Iceland seem to pull it off just fine...
We just need some more of that good ole socialism!
00 Reply Women in the West have independence. Western feminists need to go and preach this stuff in the Middle East where it would actually matter.

@Isidug what do you have against Iran? Our women are beautiful and valuable, and we don't complain about their quality unlike every third westerner.

Every woman is born and created by a man? Who created you? A man.
- 1 y
What were you thinking when you said "who birthed you, a man"? You know it takes two right? Popping out a baby is irrelevant when it takes a man to make women in this world right?
- 1 y
Every woman is created, protected, provided, maintained, fed and clothed by a man from the beginning of mankind. You women live in this world and still live thanks to men.
Men deserve respect, we men choose whether we want to respect women. Because men do more than women, because men are stronger and better. - 1 y
@TripFemvisor Are you angry? 😂
- 1 y
Disapointed because you failed to realize that every woman in this world is created by a man. Where would you be if your father didn't waste his useless sperm to make you?
- 1 y
Women need men. Men want women. Everyone knows that.

@TripFemvisor You're a useless man; now get lost.

@Isidug Another fine catch at Happy Hour ladies!! DM him before someone else snatched him up!!
Every family should figure out what's right for them.
30 ReplyOut of curiosity, what would it even MEAN to "empower men to stay home, embrace fatherhood, and other domestic things?"
010 ReplyYou know how there’s a whole social thing now where men and women are expected to fill different societal roles and women are given more options? Same thing, but for men staying home and being dads/husbands
So when I say “women are encouraged to be independent” I mean this in both media and social ideas about how women “don’t need no man” and whatever
- 1 y
So the media I understand. I guess I'm struggling with how the social ideas about women not needing a man are propagated OTHER than through media or education. Like how would you ACTUALLY propagate the idea that men should be stay at home dads, other than mentioning it at school or putting it into TV, book and movie scripts?
Ultimately I don't think it would work very well, though. I mean, you just pointed out how a lot of propaganda is spread just there lol
Why not? It did on women
- 1 y
It's a fair point. But I think there's an important difference. I think that in the case of women and the 50s-70s, the big changes were at least based on things that women ACTUALLY wanted, like being able to participate in the labor force. I don't think that there's ever been a huge clamoring from guys for doing household and childcare work. So it's not something they're already striving to do.
Secondly, I think if a man sets out with the goal of being a house-husband, he's much less likely to have great success on the dating market which makes it much less likely that he'll get married and actually BE a house husband. Not saying it's impossible, but it's certainly what you'd call a low-percentage shot. - 1 y
"Women don't need men"
Uhm, who created women in this world? That is right, men! You wouldn't be here if it wasn't for your father. - 1 y
@TripFemvisor What are you quoting?
1 yI think everyone should just do what they want. Work if you want to work. Ideally everyone should work. Only some people should have children, only well off people. Poor people should not have children.
10 ReplySounds like a trick to kill of humanity. If you want to kill off humanity you empower women. 90% of divorces including college educated women are initiated by women. Liberal women don’t have kids and create strong families
03 Reply- 1 y
I have.
- 1 y
I'm a college educated female that would love to someday be a wife and mother, but divorce it depends, if he abused me or cheated on me then yeah divorce will be on the table. Divorce for abuse cause I don't want to live my life in a harmful marriage. Cheating, my trust would be lost then
