Why is Lucky Luciano so much less famous than Al Capone?

It probably goes back to the TV show "The Untouchables" La Capone was played by Neville Brand which was poor casting in my opinion. He did not look Italian at all. He was in prison during the run of this show and his second in command played by Bruce Gordon was usually the bad guy/. These guys were hard core, running moonshine , gambling and prostitution rings. . Lucky Luciano never got a any press.
He kept a much lower profile, and not only didn't seek after power like Capone did, but tried to keep the peace by dividing that power- setting up a central council, rather than vesting it all in a single person.
Capone either didn't understand that the public pays attention when the bodies start piling up, or thought that getting enough public support- the man opened up soup kitchens to feed the hungry, donated flamboyantly to charities, and got standing ovations when he went to baseball games; the man reveled in the limelight to a degree that even John Dillinger would've called excessive, and was viewed, not entirely without reason, and a modern-day Robin Hood (as was Dillinger himself, interestingly).
Luciano relied more on his brains than his charisma.
I don’t think he is. I’m very familiar with Lucky Luciano. But I guess one reason might be that Capone was a violent outlaw who fit the classic image of a criminal, where Lucky Luciano was more of a white collar criminal who mostly dealt in nonviolent crimes like gambling and prostitution.
There's a Lucky Luciano mural in my neighbourhood right next to the subway, but to answer your question, I don't know why he isn't as famous as Al Capone.

Lucky was a big shot in his day and very much infamous
But I think Hollywood randomly chose Capone to be romanticized as the mobster antihero so people remember him because his name is mentioned in any mobster film
His roots are not really viewed as that of an American, whereas Capone is.
Plus while his structure set forth a lot for the Mafia his murders and public behavior was not the most flamboyant like Capone and later Gatti. Those are always the headline grabbers.
Because Al Capone acted like a celebrity, loved and encouraged the attention from the press, etc. Lucky lived a more low-profile lifestyle and hated media attention. They both started out in the Five Points Gang, which was started in the late 1800's by the last remaining members of old 1800's Irish American street gangs from the Five Points slums like the Dead Rabbits
Maybe because the last 15 years of his life he was exiled to Italy?
? I am talking about Luciano. He wasn't in the United States, so he couldn't create any headlines from 1946 onward.
That’s a good question

I'm dead ass serious
He was smarter and keeping a low profile is important if you are a criminal.
I really don't know. But I loved the old TV series about him
because he didn't get as many movies?
he was a megalomaniac... they do bring attention to themselves
others are usually "smarter' and keep it low-key
" if you know this much about me... you might as well be already dead " I was told once, lol...
he fell in love with the camera and the pen... and himself
he was the one who would constantly pose and speak to the press... and many reporters from many places, lol
Capone had a better marketing team
Capone was more dramatic and showy.
Capone had a better press secretary.
not as interesting.
Because he colluded with the CIA
