I’m a former Trump supporter, I believe two can get along as long as they don’t let politics get in the way of their love, respect, dignity, support, admiration, dedication towards each other. The thing is, Donald Trump claimed that he would put Kamala Harris voters in prison, claimed if we allowed crime for one hour we would be fine, and that he would be okay to terminating all rules, regulations, and articles EVEN THOSE found in the US CONSTITUTION.
I won’t blame any couple going through a rough patch during this particular election season, though afterwards I’m sure the political temperature will lower once he is out of the way. Though it is hard to turn off your brain when the signs of a Trump Presidency being a disaster are a given.
This is the guy who couldn’t get a majority of Republicans to agree with him to pass Infrastructure (didn’t happen), Border Wall (shutdown the govt for the longest period to guarantee it), Obamacare Repeal & Replacement (didn’t happen), Veterans Benefits (didn’t happen), Take On Big Pharma (didn’t happen), Wipe Out ISIS (didn’t happen), Have DOJ put Hillary in prison due to mass amounts of evidence (Flat-out BS)
Believe it or not, the Democratic Majority that was slimmer than Trump was handed got more sh*t done in terms of: Healthcare (expanded Affordable Care Act / Obamacare), Infrastructure (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law), Veteran Benefits (Pact Act), Defeated Big Pharma (2026 Drug Cost Slashes, saving Billions of Dollars for Americans), Bring Back US Jobs (Manufacturing Job Investments Chips and Science Act w/ support from Microsoft, General Motors, South Korea and more)
Clearly there is only ONE Choice in this election, the right man for the job is the powerful hopeful & joyful woman, our Madam VP Kamala Harris & Tim Walz.
*not to mention the whole document stealing thing, convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, only credential is playing a successful billionaire on a reality tv show, and January 6th
⬆️ His Reactions To The 2012 Election Results Back Mitt Romney Lost, Clearly He Has A History Of Calling For Violence & Marching On Washington & Revolution & Fight Like Hell Everytime His Canidate Loses Especially When That Canidate Is Him. VOTE Kamala Harris & Tim Walz, not this unamerican hack.

“If she were to win this election, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. In that situation, we could very well have a sitting president under felony indictment and ultimately a criminal trial.”

@DrPepper12 And every vote counts, yet 20 million didn’t do their part…. Housing market solutions, Affordable Care Act, Border Funding Bill, Environmental Protections, Price Gouging & Junk Fee Solutions, and Climate Change initiatives all gone. I voted. I made my voice heard. I’m still a former Trump supporter…. I can only pray he has a ‘come to Jesus moment’ where he understands the Presidency means something not just an office for billionaires to achieve their desires & dreams, but to govern effectively and protect the American public above all else & preserve this country’s founding principles because they are our guide… God Bless America.

I found that recent with all the extreme left and right are getting ridiculous because if you often question them, they have clue no why they support one side. They simply hate the other also, for dumb reasons or no real reason. I've asked (usually ladies) why theyre voting for Kamala, a few said they hate trump. I proceed with why they hate trump. They'll either tell me he says stupid things or they have no idea why they hate him, but they just do.
Also, when I was people why they support trump, they'll give me simple reasons like he can't be bought, he's a businessman not a politician or they dislike Kamala (again, for no real reason). I've also heard the reason theyre voting for trump over Kamala is because she's a "puppet". Whilst that is most likely true, they'd have no idea who's she a puppet for.

It depends on how extreme they are. An extreme liberal and extreme conservative would never make it. However, two people who share similar values, but have different approaches would work just fine. They can respect each other, even though they disagree. An example might be two people who value education, but one is more concerned with economics and the other with healthcare.
Yes, agreement on core values is essential; how gender or sexuality is viewed would be something that is critical to agree on because of children. But if the relationship is based on conformity of opinions and fear rather than respect and love, it's not based on a very strong foundation to begin with. Someone is lying about what they actually think, or they aren't thinking at all.

In my restaurant back before the 2020 election a couple (not married, living together) who were solid customers he an engineer for Mercedes Benz and she a school teacher ended up going separate ways from such severe disagreements over their politics'. They had been a fun couple for several years and to me seemed somewhat juvenile to let something like this break up a nice partnership.

It's really tough and sad to come across situations like these.

Yes it is! I could never ever see myself being so into political group or person that if it wasn't on the same path as my husbands feelings that we would split up over the differences. Would argue a bit as that leads to good make up sex! LOL

I don't think so. It's about values, belonging and legacy

AskNavigating political differences in a relationship can be as tricky as deciding where to eat on date night! 😄 The key is open communication and mutual respect for each other's views. If the foundation is love and understanding, even heated debates won't shake things up. It's all about listening, sharing, and occasionally agreeing to disagree. Political seasons might test your patience, but think of them as opportunities to grow and learn together. After all, politics is just one star in the constellation of your relationship! 🌟

But the important thing is mutual respect, because people are not forever in the government, or views aren’t stable.

That’s like combining water and lava in real life expecting it to create obsidian. No American patriot who longs for a safe, affordable, and strong nation will ever have a romantic relationship, let alone a real friendship with some whole vegan libtard who gets his or her or whatever the fuck it is’ guts rearranged by everyone in their rundown neighborhood that they call “art”. Opposites do not attract

No, and as a conservative woman, I have no desire to be with a liberal man.

I see some, but it is a source of pain. stab your "love" too many times, even with a toothpick, and there's going to be trouble.
Learn to make peace, listen, love and respect. that's the "job"... e. g. work. even when you don't agree, you find ways to make good and avoid hurting the other.

My wife is further to the right than I am and we have had disagreements about the importance of immigration as an election issue versus prioritizing other things.

these days no. I'd try my best to get along with anyone regardless of opinions
however the moment they start insulting me, slandering me, character assassinating me, make false claims (some of which may be incriminating) or get violent with me then they can fuck off
10 Reply 1.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Depends on if they tolerate or hate the opposing side, I'd never date someone opposite of me in the first place though re-state//background_color_rgba (0, 0, 0, 0), font_color_rgb (77, 77, 77), justifyLeft

Not American - depends on the difference views.
I don't do racists, fascist not ableist, so I don't do far rights parties, can talk to them, debate with them but not indivual I want in my life. Conservatives I've dated.

I've heard that many have divorced since in the last 10 years... so, obviously, doesn't work that well for all
10 Reply Of course they can get along. Of course it could create disagreements. However, it doesn't have to be to the point of ending the relationship.

One would hope so. I have friends across the spectrum. If I could only love those who think like me I'd be bored.

Only if they respect each other and can have civil disagreements

I think if couples break up over politics, their marriage was doomed to begin with.
