Saying your sons and daughters will oay for it isn't a threat but his view that if you leave a problem for the future, the future has to deal with it.

It should be noted that USA and Europe both pushed Ukraine to this war. Zelensky has every right to be outraged. Just simple things like how USA swore Ukraine did not need a nuclear program and that, as long as it was for defence, USA's nuclears were their nuclears. Following which Ukraine begrudgingly cancelled their program after extensive promises of USA protecting their borders.

I know it might not feel relevant to care about promises made in the past. But Ukraine is a US ally. Has been a US ally for a very long time. Lacks ability to defend itself because of the US. Allowed the war to escalate because of the US.

Of course he sees this whole washing your hands of your own actions as a problem the next generation will need to deal with. A 1.5x strength Russia, post Ukraine conquered fictional scenario, would indeed be a danger towards the current US hegemony ambitions.

So... he is right, from his view. Leaving it like this is equivalent to saying "our childre will solve this" even if it will cost the children more to solve.

I never lectured you. I did inform you that the US made a commitment to Ukraine to protect them against - Russia specifically - with nuclear weapons if needed. This was done on the condition Ukraine did not develop their own Nuclear weapons.

Ukraine stopped developing nucler weapons.
USA is now siding with Russia.

Please understand that in a deal between two parties, if one breaks the deal and the other does not, the part breaking it is the bad guy.

As for Sweden, Sweden is fine. Obviously Sweden also agreed to de-escalate the nuclear buildup when the U. S made solemn oaths to handle the nuclear umbrella.

That said, it would be a very quick and easy thing for Sweden to adjust that. As the world's largest weapon supplier, per size, it isn't as if Sweden has much military concerns.

I understand that you want to believe that the things Trump says are true, but most of them are not. There is no major war worrying Europe. The real 'war' is the trade positioning being fought between the US and the Brics. To which US sorely needs European support, and Trump is not realizing how bad it is being lost.

I wouldn't be surpised if the dollar gets replaced as core currency at this rate. That is the real U. S concern, mind you.

Which ones do we no longer deserve to have because Mexico wants them? That is basically what Trump is saying. Ukraine doesn't deserve part of it back because Putin wanted it and invaded.

Tell me, if Mexico decides to invade, what states should we deserve to lose because they want them and decided to invade? That's literally what trying to broker peace with Putin is saying for Ukraine, unless it has him returning what was part of Ukraine before this invasion. The only other option would be to have a vote all over Ukraine (that is not tainted) to see what parts want to remain Ukraine and what parts want to become part of Russia. I know parts of Eastern Ukraine feel more Russian than Ukrainian. Putin is not interested in either of these.

COVID-19 was not eradicated. My girlfriend got it last August and my parents git it a few weeks ago. It's no longer a pandemic, but it isn't gone. If people didn't think a vaccine was a political statement, it may have been. Odd how nobody thought that about other vaccines.
