I've noticed that Americans don't seem to differentiate between wealth and social class, in the same way that people from some other countries do, but the two are not necessarily related (if anything, social class lags a few generations behind family wealth).

Trump is the perfect example of someone who has a lot of money, but is still lower class (what you might call "nouveau riche"). He still thinks and behaves in the way you would expect someone of a lower social class to - scamming and hustling for every cent, and bragging about and making ostentatious displays of his wealth (all that tacky gold bling that he loves so much). It's the same thing you see with successful rappers, football players, etc from poor backgrounds.
Conversely, it's not something you would ever see from someone of class, regardless of how wealthy they were.
