Do you know how hard it is to "put down" your best friend?

Politics are dirty. Kristi Noem wrote in her book about how hard it was to have to put "Cricket" down. Cowgirls aren't the type to pass off this horrible task to others. That's not how things are done in the Dakota farmlands. It had to be done and she wasn't going to pass the buck. This was awesome for the liberal politicians, they pounced on it like red meat. They talked about how much Kristi loves to kill dogs. They really don't have any shame.

I had to put my cat to sleep. He was 20 years old and he had a good life. Still it was a very sad thing to do

I've been in your shoes and it's not a fun thing. I think Kristi's point was that having to put your dog down is not something you ask your neighbors to do.

Seeing her personality, not so sure that was hard on her. She's raised to be tough. I'd have to know her more in person to judge. Anyone that has had to put down a pet with a gun or a needle or such, knows how hard this is. Killing anything really, challenges the soul... for those that have them. If you don't have a soul, then it's a different story. Like this guy...

I'm not judging people whove been through much more than me, just an observation of challenge to the soul. Other people have different dispositions and values... it's just a matter of how someone feels and what they believe.

I have put down my dog. I KNEW he wanted to go as well and I still get a lump in my throat when I think about the last view of his when the vet had the needle and drugs inserted in his paw and he sat there on the floor looking up at me with relief in his eye (he'd had the other removed from injury). I took a photo of him before and after and struggle to look at them in memory.

He was a rescue Husky with serious strength and size (not Malamute but large Siberian) as well as aggressive food obsession because of his upbringing. I got him on my Birthday and he lasted 12 and half years to the age of 14 almost 15.

Hardest fucking decision I had to make especially as 2 weeks before my dad had passed away.
