That said I think making minority characters the main characters will be no problem at all. There's a significant difference in writing Black Panther or recasting Snow White.

In fact making new stories featuring diverse characters is the right way to go. People typically have far less issues with that. Still, you will always get criticism. Wrote a man? You chauvinist! Wrote a woman? You misandrist! So on.

If being able to see behavioral patterns is mentally retarded, then perhaps. It's a behavioral pattern for right-wing white people to attack games, movies, and animations featuring non-white characters, especially if they're Black, LGBT, etc. If a game has a Black woman as its protagonist, what are the chances of it receiving hate from right-wing white people? Answer: Very, very high. It's a pattern that repeats itself many times.
