With global travel, internet and how connected usa is to everything for better and for worse. no other country will piecemeal the same connections. It's going to be globally Enshittification.
Have you ever look up 40k warhammer lore? The emperor of man turn into a corpse on a golden throne. A thousand psychic people are sacrificed a day just so faster then light travel is possible.
So long as usa navy is running our life's landside can get as grimdark horrifying as possible but still technically be an empire.
If by 2029 the GOP still controls both houses of Congress and the Presidency, the USA will be done for as a nation. California and probably Oregon and Washington will indeed form their own nation, and perhaps the Northeast corridor will as well. The red states will be on their own.
California's biggest issue will be controlling energy costs and figuring out how to pay Social Security benefits once it separates from the red state disaster. Other than that, they have the economy AND the population to support themselves quite nicely. They will also be free to make trade deals with China, Japan, all of Asia, Canada and Mexico without bullshit from P-2025 nonsense.
This would be a huge win for them and the west coast, and I wouldn't be surprised if Nevada, Arizona and Colorado wanted to tag along. Idaho, Wyoming, Utah and NM will die with the red states.
US will divide, it won't collapse. European empires didn't collapse either as they lost world primacy 150 years ago, those empires lost just their colonies and subordinates. Ancient China divided, Roman empire divided either. China collapses over 1000 year later and Roman Empire never collapsed.
It’s more likely to collapse like the Roman empire, finding a way to continue its goals via a new method, such as they did with the roman catholic church that still endures today.

Winston Churchill said he knew the British Empire collapsed when the rest of the world started making plans without the UK. That was when they knew he knew they lost influence globally. Given there hasn't been any urgency by other countries to end Trump's trade war, it's safe to say that US influence around the world has faded significantly this year. Trump's foreign policy has not worked out because he relied on the past and other countries were forced to look elsewhere for allies and trade partnerships. China has been the big winner this year.
@BonzoInBitburg the real intrigue I have is more religion ☯️ than politics when it comes to the USA political/cultural sphere - the last time they had an Episcopalian was W. Bush in 2009 from the Republican side (and his father, H. W. Bush back in the 1989-1993), and less fascinating was Bill Clinton the Southern Baptist and coincidentally Barack Obama being non-denominational is nowadays President Donald Trump a former Presbyterian turned Non-denominational. Anyways, I for one just wonder, will 2028 or 2032 elect another Episcopalian, a Methodist, hell even a mainline denomination Protestant or Lutheran be it Republican or Democrat. That's what fascinates me - and the poll of the question sure I said A because it was amusing and somewhat truthful, yet I for one think America and China (and if Israel ever becomes a constitutional monarchy of some sort of House of David/House of Solomon brand) for at least another 50-100 years, maybe even 70
@BonzoInBitburg oops, W. Bush was a Methodist, apologies, so the most recent Episcopalian was H. W. Bush. Hmm, how fascinating, the Bush Jr didn't share the same religion as his father Bush Snr - fascinating
Hmm, well for the amusement and comedic question this is as much as it's trying to be topical, look comedic satire in me says, like a good running sitcom or running cartoon, it's got about 50 years to 100 years, perhaps even a rounded 70 to 80 years still in its prime to near prime :)
And for comedic honesty, sure I voted A, yet "almost" is more like "decades decades decades" 😃☯️
Entirely? Not for a long long time. But it's already falling apart and will continue to fall and lose status and influence. But it's still such a powerful and influential country that that will continue for some time.
50 years is probably a likely time frame. But it’s not gonna be some overnight thing. It will be a slow decline that most people won’t recognize until they are in the middle of it.
History teachers around 4-500 years or a millenia of stagnant decline.
the United States needs a national divorce
the Left can keep all the western states and the Right can keep the eastern states
California sure is a Leftie paradise as is Oregon for The Simpsons and Sleepless in Seattle for Washington State - lol from Sleepless in Seattle to National Lampoon's Vacation through to The Simpsons.
And let's face it - Family Guy may be "New England" yet their daily lives, much like American Dad, are more Californian or even District of Columbia suburbs like, 🙂😊
And I for one am no American, yet I with lofty humbleness prefer the lefties, and I just want to be everyone's friend type swinging voter lol 🥳
If I had been an America, I mean, democrat-swing left through to light republican low calorie views
The next time a democrat becomes president!!
It's hard to tell, we don't have the same type of empire as those in the past, and it really depends upon the leader.
