I agree to some extent. The internet and "Influencer" culture has damaged a lot of things that at their core are good things. Idiots desperate to make a buck and people with no understanding or concern for the issues feminism is really trying to address have squandered it's credibility and allowed the public to mock what it has become.

It is unfortunate that these self proclaimed "strong women" on social media have hijacked a worthwhile idea for cash and become a joke in the process.

The issue is much bigger than social media influencers. It's the core of the movement today.

It seems like the core has shifted only because the loud mouth assholes on social media are getting all the attention. The core of things like feminism hasn't changed. Idiots have latched onto it and are using a bastardized version of it for personal gain, that's all.

There may be some truth to that, but it's beside the point, which is that feminism should be judged by what it is, not what it used to be or is supposed to be.

But my point is that you can't condemn the movement because a few idiots who don't really care about the movement have tried hijacked it. I think you need to make an effort to separate honest feminism from the hucksters and idiots out to make a buck or the delusional drama queens on TikTok proclaiming themselves "strong women" when they are the exact opposite.

Again, I disagree. I have had conversations with a LOT or every day feminists, and they are who have formed my views of the modern feminist movement, not the the hucksters and idiots you mentioned. The conversations typically start out friendly enough, but when I start asking the difficult questions, it always eventually devolves into ugliness and anti-male sentiments. Their true colors come through, and it's those true colors I'm referring to.

i agree that feminism has NOT changed. Feminism was about equality, and it still IS about equality. It's NOT feminism's fault if the majority of people who label themselves feminists do not really understand what the word, "feminism" actually means.

Men are better than women. Because they excel over women in feats in general. There might be exceptions. But it does not break the general rule.

This is the reason I no longer identify as a feminist. I'm all about women's rights and I am against sexism in all its forms. But sexism and hate are what feminism has become, and I want no part of that.
