Today you talk about an LGBT agenda, yet in the past you were pressuring people into heterosexuality. Literally, your ancestors were telling our forefathers: 'Stop this fagg... behavior.' While Turks abandoned sodomy during the 19th century through Westernization, today people are becoming homosexual through Westernization.
The French traveler Jean de Thévenot wrote the following observation about 17th-century Istanbul: 'The Turks are famous for pederasty, and it is a very widespread sin among them. They do not conceal it much, and one of the main subjects of their songs is either this kind of disgusting love or wine.'
During the period when the Ottomans Westernized in an autocratic manner The great 19th-century scholar and official historian Ahmed Cevdet Pasha also mentioned pederasty/sodomy in his work Maruzat: 'Those fond of women increased, while admirers of young men decreased. Homosexuality seemed to disappear into the ground. The long-standing love and interest toward young men in Istanbul turned toward girls. Âli Pasha, fearing foreign criticism, tried to conceal his taste for boys.'
What an interesting world—only the colors change, but the West remains the same West!
