I don't really understand what difference it makes to people on the right what gay and trans people do with their own bodies.

1 moConservative scum sure whine a lot about how the nanny state and libtards always try to tell them what they can and can't do or think...
... but when it comes to invade other people's private lives and sexuality to tell them what they can and can't do in the name of their own stupid GAWD, they're truly in a league of their own.
They're also masters at trying to control women's bodies, choices, lives and sexuality.
(... and also when it comes to shoving the stupid bible down people's throats, even if they have to destroy democracy, freedom of speech, religious freedom, scientific research, art, journalism, etc. in order to do it)

Asker1 moI'm glad you recognize that. You are entitled to find them creepy and repugnant if you care if you want to, and it's okay to have tastes like that, of course.

1 moBecause it is a crime against both nature and God. It's that simple. Since we have at least 5000 years of recorded history where theologians all agree that God has said, "Thou shalt not," then that is good a reason as any to oppose LGBTQ people.
I am not going to rest until both LGBTQ "Marriage" and abortion are constitutionally banned in this nation.
The worst thing about it is the LGBTQs have to brag about their perverted lifestyles all day long in the work place. That and fags making unwanted passes at me. That too.

Asker1 moYou really have a little bit of a problem allowing people to live their lives in the way they want to. Don't you and then you have to invoke something silly like crimes against nature and God when in fact there is nothing criminal about people's behavior in regards to other people in this way. It's just your prejudices and the way again. Must be burdensome to have to live with that.
- 1 mo
No, you are against natural law and order. You cannot reproduce except with the opposite gender, but you'd rather fuck one another up the ass than do it the way God intended.
There's something inherently wrong with you people.
How about Get a Bible and actually read it, or for that matter, read ANY holy book written int he past 5000 years.
Asker1 moSince when are you the arbiter of natural law and order, as you put it? I can fuck whoever the hell I want in any fashion I want, and I don't think God, if he exists, is going to be interfering in that. Nor are you, for that matter. I don't care what your holy books say. They don't run my life. Apparently, they just run yours.

@SeekerOfTruth007 I spoke to god and she told me: thou shalt not be an absolute right-wing moron. There it is. Now stop it.
- 1 mo
@Danzigdawson You know what? I'm just going to let you evil people die and go to Hell from now on, with no warning whatsoever. Let's see if you prefer it that way.
Asker1 moIf that's all I have to worry about, I'm not worried at all. Your belief in hell is touching I guess but also a bit medieval and certainly very misplaced. It's a fairy tale my friend.
- 1 mo
See, you're showing how uneducated you are. The oldest writings of a "bad afterlife" namely Hell, actually date to about 5000 years ago in Ancient Egypt. It has nothing to do with the Medieval period in Europe.
I've actually seen the real Hell before, and it's absolutely full of people just like you. Actually, there are slightly more women there than men, to be honest.
Asker1 moI will admit to being uneducated in things that quite frankly don't matter. If you want to educate yourself in fairy tale kinds of things then more power to you. I know there is a place for that sort of education but not in the world that I live in. I think telling me I'm an educator who is a bit of a stretch. You know who I am and you know what I have done.
Asker1 moI would hope you would realize that people from 5,000 years ago did not exactly have a comprehensive grasp on reality because they didn't have the science to accomplish that. Has that changed? Our view of reality changed as well and rightfully so. We now know that there is no magic. There are no fairy tales and there is no heaven or hell. There is only way you see in front of you. That's it my friend and as terrifying as death may be that is all there is.
- 1 mo
@SeekerOfTruth007 Hell doesn't exist, stupid idiot. Same for god and heaven. Besides, if heaven exists and it's filled with christofascist tools like you, it's a vision of hell.
Asker1 moActually, nobody knows whether it exists or not, but the smart money is betting that it doesn't exist based on what we know about the universe now. If in fact there is a God which is highly questionable, then I suspect that God is a lot more intelligent and a lot more subtle than to create something as obvious and trashy as hell. I think hell was the creation of undeveloped and uneducated minds literally thousands of years ago. The fact that we seem to still have a surplus of those sorts of defective minds doesn't make things any better. The whole idea that because some ridiculous ideas were created thousands of years ago somehow makes some more valid is just ridiculous. If anything, it makes them less valid and more unreasonable.

@Danzigdawson I've actually been to Hell and back before. I'm not even joking. It's hot down there. Very Hot. There's an Angel who throws you in a furnace that is even hotter still.
I've been there, and I literally came back to warn people like you. - 1 mo
@SeekerOfTruth007 Seems like you've actually came back to be a case of the utmost academic interest to psychiatrists specialized in schizophrenia and/or psychosis.
If you're talking about near-death experiences, different people see different things. It's in no way a proof that heaven or hell exist.
It's the same with sleep paralysis: you wake up at night, struggling to breathe, seeing a black human-shaped shadow standing at the end of your bed... but what you're seeing is not a ghost. It's an hallucination created by your oxygen-deprived brain, leaving you in a state between being awake and asleep.
Asker1 moSure you did, and I'm the Pied Piper.
- 1 mo
@Danzigdawson This is a reply to both of you idiots.
Oh, by the way, nobody knows what causes sleep paralysis, but it is not Oxygen deprivation. You're a moron.
"God is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous." Proverbs 15:29
Who are the righteous? They are people who obey God's commandments.
Who are the wicked? Well, people like you two.
Adulterers
LGBTQS
Animals fuckers
Murderers
Thieves
Rapists
Witches
Psychics/familiars
and so on
There's a very fair principle with God: Obey God and get rewarded. Disobey God and get punished.
Asker1 moOf course we know it causes sleep paralysis. What planet are you living on?

@SeekerOfTruth007 Pedophiles and liars are not in the list? How convenient for trump and most conservatives!
"And god said: 'all of thou shalt be free to have sex with anyone, man or woman, who causes a man's reed to stiffen; or a woman's lily of the field to bloom and glisten with dew, for it is good and I enjoy watching all of that action" — Mexicans 7:78
Asker1 moLol!
1 moThe influence of puritanism is stronger on the right than the left
112 Reply
Asker1 moThat is probably true, but why is that?
- 1 mo
If we’re talking americans, this country was founded by a combination of religious extremists (puritans) and opportunistic capitalists. It’s in our history, and conservatives always go with the traditions presented throughout history
Asker1 moI sort of get that, but how do the opportunistic extremists or Puritans fit into this? Or are those the religious folks? Does the Bible explicitly say that being homosexual is a bad thing?
- 1 mo
No, the puritans are the extremists. When they first got there, they outlawed Christmas celebrations for being too hedonistic. The opportunists were the merchants. These values combined into what would eventually become the foundation of beliefs that our forefathers held when they created the constitution, and that influence alone is plenty. And the homosexuality thing depends on what translation you’re looking at in English
Asker1 moWhere exactly do these people get these ideas? I mean, I understand where the greed and the money-grubbing come from, but the issues with homosexuality seem unusual to me.
- 1 mo
The word “homosexual” didn’t appear in the bible until 1946, which also happened to be during a massive lavender scare.
Asker1 moShould we blame the flower or the spice or something?
- 1 mo
…the Lavender Scare was a historical event where people decided being gay was bad, devious, and inherently malicious. They worked to erase any and all mentions of queerness from their historical records, and this was partly influenced by the introduction of the Hayes Code to movies, which decided what could and couldn’t be shown on the silver screen and eventually the development of age ratings. It was a massive move to censor and shame queer people. It was called the Lavender Scare after the Lavender Society, a social club in new york where men wore dresses and women wore suits and was very queer-friendly and all members wore a lavender flower on their lapel as a sign of their membership in public.
Asker1 moI'm not sure what lavender has to do with it and I can't recall if lavender is a spice or a flower or both
- 1 mo
I literally told you why it was called that. You just proved you didn’t read anything I said
Asker1 moYeah I'm really aware that that's true but why is that if you know?
Asker1 moYeah I'm trying to read this as I'm bouncing around in the back of an Uber on my way home from work. Sorry I missed it but thank you for the explanation

Anonymous(25-29)1 moA lot of people who oppose Gay rights are probably religious because their religion says it’s a sin.
Asker1 moYeah, but I'm not talking about religious differences. I asked about political differences. It's different.
Opinion Owner1 moI’m not really sure why politically
Asker1 moSo it's their religion. It's not the gay person's religion necessarily, because if it were, they probably wouldn't be behaving the way they are anyway. Just because your religion tells you something doesn't mean you get to impose it on other people.
Opinion Owner1 moI guess religion can effect politics because in the countries were homosexuality is illegal that is mostly Muslim countries
Asker1 moPossible difference to this make?
They are prejudiced
