Is it possible to live a truly ethical life within a flawed system?

You'd have to define truly ethical but I'll give this a stab and define it myself to back my thought here.
Since everyone is flawed, meaning every system is made by flawed people, which also means every system is flawed, I'd say it's highly unlikely to be truly ethical.
I say this based on if truly ethical means they never once in their lives make a decision that leads to even a small unethical result. Since no one is perfect, I would say the most ethical person on earth might have had a conflicting moment that led to at least one unethical decision. Sometimes you have to choose between only bad decisions, and none of those decisions are ethical, where even trying to walk away, would be unethical.
Just wrote a long answer to you very thought-provoking question, and as usual this shit system bounced me out, deleting my answer and bringing me back here.
I will try again later. Too pissed off to try now🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐😫😫😫
@Nikki1989 I have been slowly learning that lesson

Yes there are many people that live an ethical/moral life in society such as:
1. A person who chooses not to be obese so as not to be a burden on the rest of society.
2. The father who educates his son on how to be a man.
3. The mother who controls the screen time of their child so they do not grow up with social anxiety, communication problems, ADHD and learning difficulties.
4. Those that serve their country and contribute community. Im talking military, police, paramedics, fire brigade and those that volunteer for community and charity work.
5. Those that dont steal. Some will rob you with a gun while others do it with a pen. Whether its ilegal or legal its still thievery.
6. The husband or wife that doesn't cheat on their partner.
7. The person who decides not to get involved with a married person so as not bd involved in the break up a marraige and family.
8. The son or daughter that honours their mother & father.
9. Those that dont bear false witness against others
10. The good samartian who helps others in need.
There are so many examples and all possible, all it takes the choice to do right or wrong.
not really, no
ideals and idealization exists along with reality, but it doesn't replace it
we can cherry pick our ideas, though and have them as principles... but at the end of the day, we're just ignoring other principles just so we can get ahead too
No matter what anybody does, something that touches your life has involved slavery, oppression or injustice, in some form. For myself at this point, it's a matter of degree as to the life you choose to live, IF you even HAVE a choice. For many people, there is no choice.
Yes. That's why honest, integrity, kindness, truth, and compassion exist.
For sure it is possible, but the sorrow and the sense of not belonging can be immense.
There's only one way to find out. Most people will never know because they have no code of ethics.
Sadly the sander is no
