Hello, There are people from all over the world on this site. Are you satisfied with the conditions in the country where you live—such as the economy, social life, history and culture, beliefs, and job opportunities?

3 dI not longer have a country that I feel associated with.
The place that hosts me, however, has its flaws; but I prefer it over the flaws of other countries.
Economy is predictable, and so: can be exploited.
Social life is limited both with locals and expatriates or tourists; I have my dogs though.
History... haha
''Culture'' - has a few positive things to offer, as long as I preserve some of my own background
Beliefs - Thais only belief in money, or that ''nothing will happen''
Job opportunities: With a sound professional training and experience, job opportunities are safe.
15 ReplyYes it is. But over the years I got used to it.
I would face greater difficulties elsewhere. Each pot has a lid that fits :D

m 3 dI mean I come from the first world, social market version, so the social aspects feel nice.
Economy and employment, well I grew up with discourses about economic crisis, stock market crisis, financial crisis, etc. Like everyone here after 1974, we've all been spammed with speeches about "The Crisis". Which never seems to end so I guess it's not a crisis anymore, it's just life lol
Access to culture, I mean art and things, that depends on where I lived, there isn't much culture to look at in the sticks, like everywhere on earth probably.
History, well, I don't see what satisfaction I could get from any country's history... It's just a story and it's utterly important to know it but satisfactory? I don't get how or why
Beliefs, I like how most people aren't proselytes, they keep their beliefs private overall, I'd like it to stay like that for as long as possible. Even if social media that the US exported almost everywhere on earth works in the complete opposite direction, but it doesn't seem to flip too many people, luckily.
20 Reply 2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. It used to be great, 20 years ago. Of course, I didn't realise it was great cause I had nothing to compare it to.
Now everything has gone to shit. We have horrible socialist governments who want to control and invade every aspect of your life. House prices have gone to something like 9x an income. National debt is 100k per household. Terrible irresponsibility to saddle that debt burden on future generations. Disastrously stupid covid policies for a pandemic that never was. Net zero. Mass migration. Two tierism. Very soon an anal scan will be necessarily to access the internet. A digital ID won't be 'mandatory', only necessarily to partake in every aspect of life. We've all gotten a lot poorer. Phenomenally stupid and compliant population.
However, I can't say it's all bad. We have such a rich history, beautiful countryside. Our cultural output pound for pound may well have been the best on Earth.
One has to try and make the world a better place and make the best of your life. As Gandalf said:
On times of hardship: "So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."

2 dNo, it’s becoming a shitstorm. Everything is so expensive, it’s getting harder and harder for the average person to purchase things you need or pay the bills (even utility prices are increasing). Inflation goes up, salaries stay the same. It’s bleeding out the average American. I notice that Walmart isn’t even packed on the weekends anymore, it’s getting that bad. But well, we could say the same for every other country out there who is affected by the global economy. I wish this administration would stop trying to govern the world and focus on our own country. And I really hope there are better days to come.
20 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No im not America the Great should be the leader in everything if we consider ourselves a leader
But our politicians are wealthy people are doing the opposite They are tearing down America
They have stopped teachers from teaching every other country is it's all about their kids and where they are headed and who they want them to be
It's all about greed in America and dominance of Rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer and then they have all the control and that's what they want
But what they don't understand is there cutting their own balls off
Because of their fake power and greed one day they're going to need all these people that they taught to be stupid and dumb and they don't understand that that will be the destruction of them too but it's the people themselves aren't going to stop it let them stop it themselves by what they're doing destroying themselves that's better yet then we start all over and become great again10 Reply- 4.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.

1 dNo. Canada is overpriced, is close to impossible to get a job anywhere unless you already have one and move around in a company, work life sucks here, and during winter, which feels like most of the year, you can't even go out for long periods of time so most people just hibernate indoors. Not to mention all the woke nonsense being shoved down our throats due to the liberal government. And the girls here? Entitled, narcissistic, materialistic, misandrists, overweight, and use such copious amounts of fakeup that you can't even see their real faces.
00 Reply I’ve been living in New York for about two and a half years. I work in cybersecurity and software development, so I’m personally in a good position economically. However, I know many people face challenges because of the high cost of living and economic pressure. New York has many opportunities, a unique culture, and a very diverse social environment. At the same time, like anywhere else, it has its downsides. The humidity can be intense sometimes, and even daily comfort can become a challenge. Overall, I think every country and city has its own strengths and weaknesses. What matters is how people build their lives within those circumstances.
00 Reply3.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Considering the fact I get to live without needing to work? Yes. But that's just it basically only economy is good, everything else is eh.
Especially all the fascism, it's not comparable to ya know an extreme fascist country but there is constant effort to censor and remove people's liberty while under the guise of democracy mostly with it's good for you or think of the kids logic.21 Reply- 4.7K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
u 3 dYeah, personally I’m in a bit of a pickle, but Germany has been very good to me and my family. Other European countries offer similar levels to their citizens, of course.

Not in my experience. There is extremist kook propaganda around, trying to "prove" that. But ending the damn Ukraine war successfully for Ukraine will improve a lot for a lot of people, yes!

1 dYes, we can have a really good life. But we know some of it is really trashy and I don't like some of what I see.
In the quality of some foods and foods upply, although can find decent food.
Training of people such that they don't care
The lack of discipline of criminals in my democratic run state is pathetic. We turn them loose, and ignore their crimes until they are severe enough. The risks to life are real, and you just hope it isn't your loved ones.

2 dPerfection is not from this world. All in all I do not complain about life in my country, and anyway, do we really have a choice? I always try to make the best out of the conditions of my life here.
10 Reply3.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes. However i belong with real estate I own and job I do a little bit above average working class, in this position is life quality good everywhere.
10 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Yes, I love my country and I love the life that my husband and I have here. Of course the economy could be better, but the bottom line is that we would not be able to have a life as good as we do right now in any other country.

00 Reply 337 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I've rarely been satisfied in my entire life. My brain is always like "Yeah, so what?" A good thing for motivation, but shitty for relaxation.

Younger people have life served on a platter. In many ways I did as well but no internet, 8 tracks were still a thing, and I got my ass kicked in school a bunch of times. Granted it was also the 80's.. Anyway I've always had an illusionary monkey on my back. I am proud of what I've accomplished since then, just not satisfied. I can't get complacent. Speaking of the 80's.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcGNqrAtsgg
