If there was a test before a baby was born and they showed they would be intellectually disabled would you abort them?

Even if it was mild? Why is there no genetic tests for moms to see if their baby will turn out to be intellectually disabled even mildly? If there was a test to find this out would you terminate the pregnancy?

Here's something to contemplate.

Some believe that anyone who would kill a helpless, innocent human child, regardless of a handicap which they had no power to prevent are far more of a burden to society than the child with the handicap would ever be. Any person who would so something so evil seems far more of a threat to society to me than the innocent child.

There are non-invasive tests for genetic defects (non-invasive to the fetus) and many people do terminate a pregnancy if one is found.

The only scenarios I would consider aborting my child is if they’re so disabled, or have some extreme defect, where they have no quality of life whatsoever or carrying them will end me. An intellectual disability would be hard but if you know about it beforehand you can prepare for it

Depends but those DNA markers used in those tests don't tell you exact amount of disabilities. The risk is high this child will be heavier disabled and just mildly. I know it sound cruel and egoistic but objectively it's better to end such a life that has no chance to prosper as normal individual and of course is a burden for its parents, than going full in and regretting it later.
Such a child needs a lot of energy of their parents and this energy could be invested in two or three healthy children. So abortion is a logical and pragmatic solution.

There are tests for that. They have a high inaccuracy rate, which means plenty of the time you will be aborting a perfectly healthy baby. If you are not ready to take care of a baby that is just mildly disabled, then you need to be sterilized.

Intellectually disabled means absolutely nothing. I know a handful of people who are intellectually disabled and they are thriving, own degrees, have houses, new cars and careers. Its not that big of a deal
