I think it's a decimal answer I've tried but I can't solve it ><
If the profits of your consulting business increase by 6% one year and decrease by 4 % the following year?
I think it's a decimal answer I've tried but I can't solve it ><
You made
100% the first year
106% the second year
101.76% the third year
Over the last 3 years you've averaged 102.5866666... %
Over the last 2 years you've averaged 103.88% or 3.88% over your first year (I think this is what you want?). So in other words, in the last 2 years you've seen a 3.88% increase in profits.
In the last year you're down 4 percent since the previous year, but up 1.76% from the year before it (or this is what you want?). In other words, your third year profits are 1.76% higher than your first year profits.
You have to specify more, bud. But I think I've covered the potential answers you were looking for. Hope it helps.
thank you!
No problem. And thanks for BA.
100%
+6%
=106%
106%
x .96 (same as -4%)
=
101.76%
-100% (initial amount)
=
1.76% increase over 2 years.
thank you!

This question is very vague.
"How much have the profits gone up based on which year? I'm assuming you mean the start of the first year. In this case it's 1.76% exactly.
Thank you :)!
1.00*1.06=1.06
1.06*.96=1.0176
They went up by 1.76%
