Ex boyfriend unfriends you on Facebook...why?

So me and my ex boyfriend broke up about a month ago. He's the one who wanted to take "a break." Even tho it hurt me so much I kept a clear face and acted like I was OK. Well about a week after the break up he unfollows me on twitter and then a month later unfriends me on Facebook. I am very upset and hurt especialy when he texts me a couple weeks back that he doesn't like how we don't talk and isn't sure if we will work out but wants us to be friends if we can. But I'm confused because if he's wanted to be friends why does he still not talk to me at work and unfriended me on fb and twitter after the text? I'm trying to get over the fact how bad he hurt me emotionaly through all of this break up and it doesn't help I have to work with him everyday. And he doesn't really talk to me unlessl its work related. Which even then he tries to not really talk or look my way. I'm the one who is hurt. Why does he see the need to do all of these hurtful things? Its a lot of questions but I could use some answers. Please help.

I've answered a question like this before, but this one is slightly different. In this case, I don't think you have done anything wrong at all hun, he's being a ridiculous c*nt by the sound of things. The fact that he said he's upset that you don't talk, then unfriends and unfollows you is a bit stupid of him, as now the ways you can communicate are made narrower. I thought at first that he could be doing it for attention, in hopes that you will put the effort into speaking to him. But to do that, instead of approaching you and apologising for the pain he caused you is rather cowardly.

I'm not sure what to advise you here hun, but know you've done nothing wrong. It may be time to move on, but only you can decide that.

He doesn't see the need to be in contact with you. Not being on your twitter and Facebook are just the latest ways to do that along with things in person.

Maybe he changed his mind and thought it would be better to not talk anymore.. =/ I know it's not fun to read that, but it is possible. I'm sure he feels bad about the break up too, and probably wants some time alone right now. I personally wouldn't like to keep my ex boyfriend on Facebook/twitter either.. but it is strange that he said you two should stay friends and then all of a sudden deletes you. But I wouldn't try to think about it too much, I know that's hard not to do, but try. I think he just wants to move on

He probably feels unfriending and unfollowing you will help him move on. I'm sure he still cares about you--just not like he used to--so he may still feel pain or discomfort whenever he sees you.

My friend had a boyfriend who unfriended her after she broke up with him. He said it's because he couldn't stand to see her because he was still hurting.

Well, I deleted my ex off of Facebook after we broke up simply because it pained me every time I'd see her name pop up.

Seems like he's torn between moving on and getting back together with you.
