I would say the Beerhall Putsch: a comically inept attempt to seize power that fell flat on its' face. But let's not forget what happened afterward: people laughed off the extremist authoritarian group's attempt but afterward they were able to recover and obtain dictatorial power in Germany. History rhymes but it doesn't repeat unless we learn from it. Now go talk about all the violence committed by groups like Antifa to like "totally own me" or whatever.

This week, Trump has come out saying he wants Twitter to be banned. You know where Twitter is banned, North Korea a freaking communist shithole.

If the media has balls, they would call Trump a communist for agreeing with North Korea. Plus he did said he fell in love with Mr. Communist Rocket Man 🙄

I asked this before and people kinda missed the point.

Essentially it is not okay for the government to censor you but it is currently okay for a company the size of a small government to censor you.

Do you know who competes with google? Fucking nobody. Why are we letting a giant monopoly control the virtual public square? Why do we treat youtube like a platform when it is really a publisher because it editorializes via censorship?

Just something i heard today. wondering how others feel about it

Let’s destroy the economy, abolish civil rights, and cause a massive mental health crisis because of a virus that any person under the age of 70 has 99.6 percent chance of survival. Whew.

Three months ago, I wrote a Take about Florida manipulating its covid numbers so the situation didn't appear as terrible as it was, at least on 7-day moving averages. In fact, at the time, their numbers of deaths were literally off the scale (which went to 10.9, and they were losing 12 people per 100,000, not even counting people from other states who died there).

Now, DeSantis is back from vacation and the numbers of new cases haven't been reported since last year (unlike every other state I've checked). Lo, and behold! The 7-day average of new cases appears to be going down.
