Some history... in 2013... a "coup" threw out the Pro Russian Ukraine president... USA was there in support if not instigation. In 2014 USA and the West were pushing a policy of democracy and inclusion of Ukraine into NATO. Russia said "no way" to NATO and missiles on their border... they invaded and took Crimea. Russia put after 7 years of war and saw this as security concerns... and that is the conflict you see on tv. That is one view, not the only one, which says... your country had a hand in making this mess!

Ukraine as a free country has the right to decide if they want to join NATO or the EU. If they want to or not, is their own choice, no one else has the right to say they can't.

Not American, I don't think ordinary Americans are to blame. The foreign policy of the US government often runs counter to what its people seem to want, which can be both a good and bad thing.
I do believe that NATO/The US played a strong, albeit indirect role in sparking this invasion. In the lead-up to it, Putin demanded that NATO military infrastructure (particularly missile systems in Poland and Romania that could be "nuclearized") be pulled back from near Russia. The NATO position on this issue was never publicly revealed. Only the position on Putin's other demand; refusing NATO membership to Ukraine, which was (rightly) rejected.
In 1962, the USA was ready to start WW3 over Soviet missiles in Cuba, so close to the US mainland. Today the reverse is the case, and it is the US that has missiles close to Moscow. Are people really surprised that Russia would not be quiet about it? If Putin and Lavrov's claims are to be believed, NATO rejected all their demands, including the missile deployments near Russia. I suspect that this arrogant, nonchalant attitude by NATO was interpreted by Putin as NATO saying he was bluffing on Ukraine. He called their bluff, and now there is a tragic war going on.
People keep saying that this was Putin's choice. Of course it is. But one's choices are made based on various factors of reality around them. I believe that if NATO had negotiated seriously, we wouldn't all be in this mess. Putin might have originally deployed troops to get The US/NATO into serious negotiations. There was no way he was ever going to pull them back after NATO refused to seriously act on the one demand out of all others that was actually legitimate. That would have made him look weak; the Russian president getting sent home like a disobedient schoolboy, while the west pats itself on the back for "standing up" to Russia (when this was supposed to be about Russia standing up to the NATO).
TL;DR EU did a good video talking about the professor's argument. The summary of his argument (The TL;DR of TL;DR) is that we would have been mostly at fault pre-Crimea, but post-Crimea, the majority error swings back towards Putin.
The USA is definitely not blameless, though. We are pretty much the world arbiters of "do as I say, not as I do". It angered me when conservatives here were all about torture and "just blow up the brown people" when we went to the middle-east, because if we torture people, torture is now de-facto legal. I think the US and Europe tend to meddle too much. I think the US should remove most of its bases from overseas and focus more on what’s going on within its own borders. I have been researching other ways of donating to their suffering population, and found it to be a bit complicated. From finding the right charity with proper credibility and experience and easiest access to the devastated areas (according to the BBB), to dodging scammers, completing difficult financial transactions, reading reams of documents, filling in applications, and preferring to remain anonymous, to finding the actual money resources to fund a donation. In hopes of simplifying, easing, expediting, and making a donation means available to many charitable people, I am reaching out to you because I hope you can help promote this idea.
Here goes: - A YouTube video related to Ukraine, such as their national anthem which can be edited in with clips of some courageous speeches by the president, along with scenes of suffering and destruction, and summary of recent events be uploaded by a beneficiary (whoever is the best, fastest, most affective, and legal option) who represents Ukraine. - The video gets monetized. - The video gets promoted as top priority. - The video goes viral. ANYBODY ANYWHERE can EASILY click on it and watch it, MULTIPLE times. - Most importantly the contributor can remain anonymous. So even those who refrain from donating in fear of revealing who they are, can still help. - The income from the video goes to help Ukraine. I have seen many user views divided and scattered between random videos. Putting out one single video could consolidate and add up all of the views and direct them into raising funds to help the people of Ukraine. Thank you! I hope this can work somehow as I am no cyber expert at all.

Nonsense. The Ukraine was not on the verge of joining NATO and there were no plans for missiles. The pro-Russian government was overthrown because it was corrupt and a puppet of Putin.

Putin invaded and annexed Crimea from the Ukraine in February 2014 during the Obama administration and now Putin's current invasion into the Ukraine is happening during the Biden administration. Putin didn't invade any countries during the Trump administration.

Putin also invaded Georgia during the Bush administration in 2008. That was 11 years before Trump's term as President.
The withholding of aid to the Ukraine was temporary (55 days) in 2019. That was 2½ years ago. It had no bearing on Putin's current invasion.
As for the sanctions, did they force Putin to give back Crimea or force him out of Donbas? No. He just turned to Communist China, like he is now.

Putin's repeated lies about Russians dying on training missions, while their bodies were riddled with bullets began to cause issues among the Russian populace. The supposed liberal media never reported this. Then your boy trump lifted the Russian sanctions and withheld aid to Ukraine as soldiers were dying in the East.
And I want you to acknowledge withholding aid did not endear Ukrainians to trump. Sucking off Putin on the world stage was not popular in Ukraine. And calling Putin a genius pretty much incensed them.
If you can't do that, there is no reason to continue discussion. As you pretend that a trump election would be good for Ukraine.
I also happen to be currently working with two people from the area. One from the Ukraine, the other from Poland. We've had plenty of conversations. Putin made no forward advancements or invasions during the Trump administration, beyond the aggressions he started under Bush and Obama. That's documented history. You can consider that good, bad, indifferent, or something else.
You can drone on all you want with your prospective. The factual history is this: Putin's invasions happened under Bush, Obama, and Biden, and all the sanctions did diddly squat to curtail Putin's behavior.

It just makes no sense. Now supposedly there's a bipartisan resolution being drafted to immediately halt the import of Russian energy. It's definitely about time, but I also hope the United States restarts and/or increases domestic energy production, for ourselves and our allies.

First of all it's not the USA's responsibility to look after the health and well-being of another country unless it's our allies. And second of all this war is none of our business it's between Russia and Ukraine. So rather Russia takes over Ukraine in the end or Ukraine successfully defeats Russia in the end I honestly don't care and is none of my business nor ours.

this war is planed by global elite and illuminati that they want to sell American produced gas and oil. Now, America is producing a lot of oil and gas they don't need middle eastern peace so they left Afghanistan. And they want to enter into EU market to sell gas/oil. Russia has nothing but gas and oil. If they can't sell them, they will starved to death. So they attack Ukraine because there are lots of gas transport pipeline going through Ukraine.

Not correct. Biden shut down much of our oil and gas production on his first day in office and his party refuses to reopen it to where it was. Before that we were net energy producers and now we are net energy importers.
