Smartphone!

(which is essentially a 'radio+camera' with some extra features)

has progressed at an insane rate in the decade.

There are thousands of brands but not more than 50 brands capable of making a decent one.

Here we will see some worthy brands, other than Samsung and Apple, that you should check out.

I've used a few products from each of the mention brands. This take is based on my view and experience of the products.

Apparently, Nokia is back! (At least in name)

By mid 2012, Nokia had taken huge losses and was almost bankrupt.

In 2013, the mobile and devices section was eaten for dinner by Microsoft.

Now Nokia has emerged as a challenger with Windows platform on mobile.

For Android and iOS users, Windows on Smartphone may be a bit hard to chew on, but it is definitely worth checking out.

Don't underestimate the window, Bitch!

4. Lenovo

Lenovo has quota a reputation for making trusty and rugged laptops.

Initially, their venture in the Smartphone market was modest and cautious.

Lenovo has used Mediatek chipsets for a while, which raises questions about their hardware.

Lenovo is now sporting Snapdragons, probably due to poor performance and shoddy camera quality. Not to mention the heating issues and overpricing.

Above shown, the Lenovo Z2 is pretty decent in terms of almost everything, but still... the camera sucks.

3. Asus

Another pioneer of computing, another powerful challenger.

Asus Smartphone have offered both Snapdragon and Mediatek devices, but now, the emphasis have been given to Snapdragon chipsets.

Every Asus comes with a big battery, but badly optimised software.

Still Asus devices are very reliable and the Zen UI Android is decent.

The Zenfone 3 (not max or ultra) has proven to be a good device, though there are annoying bugs.

2. One plus

One plus is the adopted child of Oppo mobiles.

Then company has produced some kick ass products as well as some ass kicked products.

The one plus series has met with both positive and negative feedback.

The performance is great for all of the products and the price is very reasonable

The problem is in the software usage and optimisation. The phones come with Cyanogen OS which is infamous for multiple bugs and issues. Some hardware issues have also been reported.

The latest one plus 5 offers great performance, has decent software, great battery endurance but the dual lens camera needs a lot of work.

The recent system update has also caused major issues in the phone.

1. Xiaomi

Xiaomi has amazed everyone.

The fact that I am writing this take with a Redmi 4, after ditching my last phone which used to heat up like a hot Bitch in bed, earns Xiaomi this position.

Mi offers the best value for money, evident by its sales booming in just 3 years after established it went serious about producing Smartphones. Despite being a Chinese firm, it offers an impressive build quality in every product.

The recent devices have offered very impressive features for modest prices.

And all that with solid build quality.

All Mi devices comes with android based MIUI which seems like a copy of iOS.

MIUI is is impressive, but should not be compared to iOS.

The company has been criticised for being 'Appleophilic' and having Apple like organisation and Apple like products.

Redmi 4....., kinda looks like I phone.

Xiaomi has the biggest market in China, while the fastest growing is in India.

While a ''Made in China'' tag can be disheartening, a ''Made in Your Country'' sounds oddly satisfactory.

Xiaomi has collaborated with the market's entrepreneurs to open production centres in the subject country.

The company has also sold an undisclosed but seemingly significant stock to the industrial Titan, Ratan Tata.

Xiaomi has earned it's place on this take.
