What is the difference between a ps4 and xBox? And why is there a 'hate' against the xBox?

Okay I never owned a gaming console and I have really no clue about this and nobody I could ask...
I would like to buy my first console and I wanted to buy a ps4, cause everyone seems to praise that one and tend to recommend the ps

BUT the stores don't sell them anymore, they are expensive online, I don't want a used one (I don't trust that shit) and the ps5 is also expensive and well with delivery difficulties... so I was thinking why shouldn't I just get a xBox instead... i mean what's the difference?

Just so you know, the latest versions are Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, getting the older version would be a mistake.
They are made by different companies, Sony and Microsoft.
Both are comparable in performance, but they do have different peripherals, for example the controller of the PS5 has better haptic feedback.
There are games that are only available on PS5 and there are games that are only available on XboxX.
In general, the PS5 games are considered better.
They both have different subscription services, allowing for different games each month; Playstation Plus and Xbox Game Pass.

I am a game developer and I would personally recommend PS5, but I am biased because of several reasons, so I recommend reading others' opinion as well.

Its two consoles which basically do the same, but from diffetent companies.

Xbox is made by microsoft and Playstation made by Sony.

Just like Samsung and Apple phones.

There are some exclusive games, which are only available on one of the consoles, so if you are interested in a specific game, better check first wether its available on this or that platform.

Also pay attention on the version you get, playstation is straight forward, its just numbered 1-2-3-4-5 with 5 being the newest one.

While Microsoft has a weird way of naming their stuff.

Not much difference. It's like people who think Pepsi is better than Cola or visa versa. Then there is many who just simply don't care which one it is.
There is differences but unless your dead set on one of them it's not really a big deal.

One obvious difference is different game exclusives. A more minor one is just the interface of the home page.
I've always been a fan of Xbox more but it's not a big difference to where I would say Xbox is better. If you can get the games you want on it, just buy it. Console wars are pretty pointless and dumb.

Xbox 360 was much better than an ps3, but the PS4 is much better than the Xbox one. It also has better servers so the online gaming experience would be much better, they also have less issues.


PS5 is again better than the new Xbox, but you do have delivery issues because of the silicone shortage. If I were you I would get the ps5, PS4 is slowly becoming out of date, and new games released are drastically different in terms of graphics and gameplay compared to old generation consoles (ps5 vs PS4).


Try and get the ps5, there are discord servers I can recommend to you that will notify you instantly when a ps5 becomes available in stock. Do not buy second hand, they are more expensive then new ones

I own neither! My father has an old Atari 2600 we’d sometimes play, and my brother probably has them all, but I almost never go near his room, so I couldn’t even guess at what he has. As for me? I have an iPhone 13 that I play puzzles and occasionally crazy birds (the original) thats about it.

I've never had a gaming console either but as far as I know the inside hardware is almost exactly identical but many game get published only for Xbox or only for PS5. I looked at the gams and generally prefer PS5 exclusive games but you should figure for yourself. Lookup "best PS5 exclusive games" and "best Xbox exclusive games" on YouTube. Watch a couple of videos and you'll find your favorites.

I mean, sure I guess its fun playing games, but why do the make if their life’s mission to learn everything about every square cm of the game, to find any advantage or secret to help them inside the game… but they spend absolutely ZERO time developing social skills (especially with the opposite sex). First of all you have to know that if you want to play online you must pay each year from the premium services either to Xbox or PlayStation... I highly recommend buying or upgrade your pc cause you can find games cheaper and has free multiplayer function ( i was an xbox guy until the ps4 ... After ps4 i made a powerful pc and i feel really happy about it)

There's different games on each brand. I recommend a PlayStation since it has the best exclusives and you can play xbox games on PC, at least for me I have no reason to get an xbox.

I never seen a reason to buy video game systems. I was always the one that rather do stuff outside instead of play video games

Simply put its the exclusive games. Find out what games will come out or are out exclusively on each and choose that way because they are neck and neck in pkwer and what they can do tech wise.

I don't have a clue. I never really play video games, but I have played on both consoles and in my opinion the XBox was more versatile and the controller was more comfortable. It has probably been at least 5 years since I have played so things may be a lot different now.

PS4 is made by Sony am Japanese company. Xbox is made by Microsoft an American company. They have different kinds of games. Most of the hate comes from PlayStation fanboys/console war fanboys. both are amazing consoles
