Why do old coworkers stalk me on social media?

On facebook I saw like 4 of them that showed as people I may know. I'm not friends with any of my coworker on facebook. People you may know are people recommended to you by facebook when they stalked your facebook. I left that job in December 2024.

Stalking is a pretty strong word to use, knowing how the algorithm works and how someone can be suggested to you based off several other factors that aren’t just having viewed your profile, even one time. They can be suggested based off factors like mutual friends, shared networks (work, school, city), imported contacts (phone and email), groups, and tagged pics.

I've not had facebook since 2014ish. When ever my parents joined lol. But I've seen coworkers view my instagram stories. People get curious, and I don't think their is anything wrong with that. If it makes you feel uncomfortable change your privacy settings.

It doesn't necessarily mean they've been stalking you. It could mean you've been in the same area before and fb uses location and places you have been or even phone numbers stored in your phone
